    Default Stage 2 advice needed

    2018 TriGlide 107 w/no current upgrades. 7 year warranty with almost 4 years left.

    I am planning on a stage 1 and 2 upgrade for after the riding season ends. I want to install the HD torque cam and because of the warranty I'll stick with HD parts.

    My plan is to buy the SE high flow wedge, Street Cannons, SE tuner. That's the easy part.

    When I install the cam I'll probably get the 2020 oil pump and cam plate and of course the upgraded cam bearing. Probably go with the HD pushrods (warranty). Is there anything that you have done during a stage 2 that I need to be aware of, any tips that I need to know for the installation.

    Most of these parts are out of stock so I'll probably start ordering stuff pretty soon.

    I think you have an extended service plan. Depending on the terms you may be able to go with aftermarket parts. Mine allows this. Your factory warranty was only for 2 years. You will be leaving a lot on the table if you go with a Harley cam and tuner.

    It’s possible you can cash out the remainder of your ESP and buy one that allows aftermarket cams and tuner too. Something to consider.

    David,

    I am considering the same thing you are with my 2017. The 8 lobe oil pump is attractive as a preventative measure. I haven’t had sumping issues. If I go in there I would go with a Woods 22X cam.

    I have Jim Palmer extended warranty and it allows aftermarket parts. I did the S&S 465 cam, S&S premium lifters, newest HD oil pump, Fullsac Sportpipe head pipe and a TTS tuner, already had Screaming Eagle Street Cannon mufflers. The tech at the shop said he hadn't used a 465 cam yet so he was all in for using it. After a full dyno tune the tech said he was very impressed with this cam, said he hadnt seen that much low rpm torque from a cam change. It has 100 ft lb of torque at 2300 rpm and maxes torque at 3000 which is my normal riding range, this thing pulls like a tank from off idle and pulls me and the wife along with our trailer with no problem at all.

    The one thing to remember is the trikes will make about ten hp and ten ft lbs less than a 2 wheeler with the same components due to parasitic drag of the 2 rear wheels.
