Going over my '21 TG to get familiar with it and located the battery tending pigtail behind the left side panel. The connection is not standard to what I'm used to. There is a blade terminal connection; anyone know what it is for?

5 Amp Global Battery Charger

The 5 Amp Global Battery Charger incorporates all the features of the 1.5 Amp Global Charger, and reduces typical recharging time to 1 to 2 hours. Maximum output charge rate is 5.0 Amperes. Compatible with 2-pin and 3-pin charging harnesses, the output current automatically switches between 5A and 2.5A, depending upon the type of harness used. The full 5A output current is available when used with 3-pin type harnesses and 2-pin charging harnesses are limited to 2.5A. The advanced solid-state circuitry constantly monitors and adjusts the voltage to maintain optimum battery energy levels without overcharging and automatically switches to float mode for maintaining charge over extended periods of time. The charger accepts worldwide input voltage 100 to 240 VAC @ 50 to 60 Hz. A universal power supply unit enables the 5 Amp Global Battery Charger to properly charge and maintain all H-D® 12-volt batteries worldwide. 2 year manufacturers warranty. Typical Recharge Time: 1-2 Hours.

BTW…not sold in the US to my knowledge..

Did the dealer give you the charger that plugs into that harness..?..

Hahaha…won’t happen.

Any standard SAE plug like this (standard) fits/works with that socket…I have the same 3-point socket on my ‘21 TG…

NOTE: this is the BIKE side polarity; note the + connection is shrouded/protected.

The charger side is opposite…as battery maintainers have short-circuit protection.

No they didn't. However, I did find out if I rate them a "10" on a survey they would give me a charger . The trickle charger I have plugs into the standard 2 pin terminals without issue. I measured the voltage at 12.74 so I won't know if it's actually charging until the voltage actually drops enough to kick it on (if that makes any sense).

I was told by HD parts guy that it is used if you are charging a lithium battery.

That's Interesting. Then they should sell/provide an adapter for chargers to accommodate that setup. Haven't seen them available in the catalog. The 800 mA charger is the only one they sell that supports lithium batteries.

Sometimes when the expert (Parts Guy)… doesn’t know the answer they tend to say anything to move you away from the counter…Not saying that’s the case in this instance but it wouldn’t surprise me..🤔

If you give them a 10 rating they will send you a free charger. Is that bribe???
