Late Model Harley Ultra with CSC

I do have paralegal training and so I analyze things to death and I fight my own battles. The dealer may have taken the money for the paint job but never made record of it to CSC on the order document, usually one of the side covers accompanies the order (at least how it was done years ago) to be painted at the factory. CSC would have painted it as you mention it was a non-CVO paint job. This is just my opinion but I feel that the dealer you bought from did an incomplete job and you paid more than you should have. The fault lies with the dealer and not CSC as they can only fill an order with the document they receive from the dealer. If the document you have and the one CSC has do not match, that's not a good sign.

If I have to come out of retirement at 66 years old and return to trike converting, Katy bar the doors.

Gwmagee - I can certainly understand why you are upset. For some reason, I still believe the issue lies with your builder.

To your point, I find it hard to believe that the builder would completely assemble the trike :before it is painted". Like you said, that takes and would cost a double build price.

Still think you should get on the phone with CSC and let them know what happened. This is exactly what I did when I have the problems. When my bike was delivered, it did not run properly - the clutch was not adjusted correctly. I got on the phone with both CSC ad the builder - there response was, take it to the dealer and do whatever is needed.

Installed picked it up on a Sunday, took it to the dealer. Dealer installed a completely new clutch. I paid the bill, sent them the receipt and got a check withing a few days. Since then, I have not had any issues at all.

My wheels were not available when I ordered. So, they put wheels on and said when they arrived, they would ship them to me. Got my new wheels the other day and they are installed.

Your call - however, I still think toy should contact CSC.

By the way, the bike looks like your color. I was talking to this guy before I had mine done. I believe CSC painted his.

You were talking to this guy? Who is he and where is he from?

Click on the trike image and it will take you to the web page where the installed put this together

It doesn't work.

There is something suspicious with this build, money paid for paint and it not being done, then being gouged for the conversion to be painted, electric reverse when the customer didn't order it: this sounds like botched up paperwork from the dealer who sold the conversion and probably has no 'Trained' installer at the shop, failed to turn over the money to paint the conversion to CSC, failed to provide a painted sample part to CSC and then the trike was farmed out to the Harley dealer who didn't know the first thing about a trike conversion, then it was assembled, disassembled and painted and then reassembled which cost more money.

Thus the seller of the conversion made a sale, pocketed the money to paint the conversion at the factory and then left the customer with an over priced mess. What I would like to see is a copy of the build order that CSC has on file and a copy of the original agreement signed by the seller and the customer unredacted. The seller is at fault.

If this would have been done to me it wouldn't end well.

I do not know who he is or his contact. Someone else thought CSC painted his trike. I do not.

I know you don't know, I was not asking you, I was asking cycle747, the person who posted that he talked to the fellow in the picture and who said there was a link embedded in the picture that would take you to the site of who built it.

I was not gouged for paint or by the Bowling Green Harley Davidson

After delivering my bike in November, I waited till early May for my kit to be painted and assembled. I went and picked it up by choice because I was tired of waiting on his painter.

I contracted with Wicked Kolors in Indianapolis to get my parts painted-I am very pleased with their work. I also have no complaints with HD Bowling Green and what they charged for the work they did. My gripe is after I paid for kit-sent CSC my vin# which told them what my bike was and how it was painted they should have told me up front they couldn’t match the paint in July when I paid for the kit instead of waiting 4 months holding my money.

My builder should not have assured me he could get it painted and then give me the run around till I finally just went and picked it up.

If I remember right Harley Davidson was having a problem with the Scorched Orange paint. It was up to the seller to refund the money to you and then get it back into their account from CSC and they should have asked about certain colors. There are certain colors that no one wants to paint because of a 'Match' issue, Honda illusion red and blue are two of them and Harley Snake Venom would be the other. If I remember right one of the forms I had charged more for Illusion paint.

I'm glad it all turned out well. It is rough for me to see someone being taken advantage of like this. I did send you my email as the documents did not show up in the PM. CSC should also be made aware of what the seller has done and drop them, it is a bad reflection on CSC for allowing this individual to be a dealer.

RANDY You built this trike ? Didn't you ? So who painted it ? :xzqxz::xzqxz:

After visiting CSC I wouldn’t hesitate to let the build me a trike conversion. I’m sure this is just a bad builder/dealer experience. Most customers seem happy with them. My local Honda place converts a lot of Goldwing conversion to CSC and everyone I ask about raves about them both.

ARE YOU SURE IT MAY BE THE WRONG COLOR STILL :xzqxz: :xzqxz: :xzqxz: :xzqxz: :xzqxz:

According to the 2020 Harley Davidson paint code it is Scorched Orange with Denim Black code ELF.

2019 and 2020 have the same: Colorrite 6299 the orange and 1299-1 base coat. Dupont #T1884

I'm retired from this business and still have fun looking for stuff. :)

Randy - I believe you built this trike for Steve and another one (Gold Wing) for his wife Karen. They are from the Houston area.

So, did CSC paint this - or, did you have it done.

Donald,

No I did not build or paint the OP's trike, but yes, I built it and painted the bike he referenced in his referenced pictures (not personally, but my painter did) for Steve and built Karen's Goldwing DCT, great folks and great friends. This color is a really difficult and very expensive color to match and CSC will not paint it for that reason.

Though its not officially a CVO color/graphix, it is a Limited Premium Upgrade color/graphix option and that particular paint/graphix upgrade cost $4000 when ordered as an option on that year make and model! I was just wondering if you knew who built and painted it. Are you from the Houston area?

I knew you built it - was not sure who painted it. No, I am not from the Houston area.

I am from Michigan and you, and I talked on the phone about wheels for my trike kit. I have heard so many great things about you - and imagine that you have talked to so many folks - it might be difficult to put all of the names together.
