Hi Al and Welcome to Trike Talk
If you are talking about the oil pan, that extra plug is for an oil temperature gauge
You can see 1 on the bottom is for transmission drain, 1 facing forward is for oil drain. There is also 1 plug facing forward in the picture not numbered ( far right side) that is the one I am referring to. I hope this answers your question

Welcome to the forums Al. Are you referring to an electrical plug ?

If you are referring to an electrical plug under the gas tank on the right side, that is for heated hand grip wiring

If the op is referring to the connecter on the LHS, sometimes hanging out of the caddy under the tank- its for the passing lamps. I think that is 109A in the schematics.
