Mods to Tri-Glides

Let’s put a twist to the modding of your Harley Tri-Glide or Free-Wheeler.

Are there any mods that you have avoided doing or are there mods that you wish that you had not done?

I am being like Santa and checking my mods list twice.

I have previously spent money on mods that were in the way, did not look the way that I had hoped it would, found mods that were cheap built, had things that fell off, found mods that were better in one brand over another, and so on.

I was just curious if I should add, change, or remove items from my list on other’s opinions or suggestions.

I have done several mods on my 2017. First was the DK Customs oil filter relocation kit since I do my own service. Next was a lift kit from RJS Originals then was the Po Action shocks from DK Customs. I installed a set of Khromewerks 2 plus 2 wide sweeper handle bars and this improved the steering a bunch, since the wife and I tow a trailer on long rides I had a S&S 465 cam S&S lifters and a TTS tuner with a complete dyno tune along with a Fulsac sportpipe head pipe. It now has the low end it should have came with from the factory.

I installed a Grasshopper backrest on my TG. (Already had one on the Softail and it is comfortable and works great).

While the Grasshopper backrest on the TG is very comfortable for me, the fact that it does not fold down for Mary when she is getting on and off the Trike is a PITA for her. Probably going to end up changing it out.

I got the Grasshopper backrest after watching your video. I love it, but you are correct about hard for the wife to get on and off. I just get off the trike first and pull it out and leave it out until she gets back on. She likes it after she is on the trike. She says it makes her feel more secure on the trike.

Yeah, I may try doing that for her. I really like the backrest, the way it has a bit of "spring" in it. Your solution may be best.
