How many are using the new longer M8 oil filter

Just wondering if anyone is using the new oil filter that is longer for the M8, I got along just fine with the old oil filter that harley has been using forever with no problems at all. I just bought a new style oil filter for next year when I change oil and filter and also bought the oil plus I bought the trannie and primary oil to boot, don't know if prices will raise or not since everything else is or their will be a shortage on this since their is a shortage on parts for harley.

Just a comment if using the new style longer version and how you like it or see no difference, me personally I wouldn't think their would be a change at all.

I have been using the new longer filter now for a bit over a year, I cannot tell any major difference

I cut one apart after an oil change and am not very impressed by not finding a lot more filter media

My local dealer seems to be keeping the older filters off the shelf, you have to ask for them @ the parts counter

Used one on the 1k service on my 2020 TG - changed all three holes to synthetic lubes. Couldn't tell any difference but really don't know how to check for any difference. Went in to buy one for the next service and during checkout noticed that it 'rattled.' Further inspection lead parts guy and me to surmise that the media inside was not filling the canister as it's been reported the media is the same as the 'old' filter and larger can/housing left room for it to move around inside. I decided to go back to the old style filter and have done so now for three services. Working just fine.

I just had my 2020 serviced and used the new longer M8 oil filter. I noticed no difference from the shorter version. Since the price was the same as the old version, I stuck with the new filter.
