Its sad that this generation needs emotional support animals to cope with life and if something happens where they work they need a therapist to cope. You have too many being scared out of their wits and looking under their bed for monsters or the boogieman in the closet.

If we don't stand up to the enemy, we'll get plowed under. Pencil pushing 'Woke' generals that have not gone into battle and couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. No one like to take second place and not get a trophy and thus we now have participation awards and it makes the loser feel good.

Something has been lost over the generations and that is the will to win. Too many submit and are sheep and the wolf will get them. I somehow feel the will to fight for what is right stopped with the boomers.

Yeah, the U.S. bombed it, but it's still in operation. We didn't get to the 'root causes'. The root cause (imho) is that Mohammed was allegedly given orders by God and the gullible followers of the Muslim faith believe it even tho there's no evidence, that I know of, that said meeting ever took place.

Bill, thanks for your posting. Just yesterday I went on a group ride to the Titan Missile Museum located just south of Tuscon. It was an amazing experience. The tour was filled with so much information that I think I need to do it again. The one fact that sticks in my mind, and I had never thought about, is the nuclear stand-off we lived through and are still living through. That is, both sides in a nuclear war realize there will be no surviving winner. The missile site I visited was meant to be a second-strike missile. It was designed to kill the guys who killed us. Very scary to think about what would happen if crazy people wanting to prematurely visit their God obtain nuclear capabilities. Our very existence depends upon that not happening.

The Titan Missile Museum has a pretty good web site providing a bit of information, but it is not near as enlightening as doing a personal tour..... Jim

​Most interesting post!!! After returning from S.E.A. I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in S. Dakota that had 3 squadrons of 50 Minuteman missiles each that were very similar to Titans. (They were all out in the middle of nowhere.) There was another squadron of 150 Minutemen in North Dakota also. I couldn't see any way for a person (or a group) to be able to get in to damage a missile as our gov't covered every way that I could see with safeguards and made getting into the missile impossible if you didn't have the codes which change with every entry and are different for the two groups (maintenance and security) that are ever allowed entry. And on top of it there were standardization tests (called Stand Board tests) that each group had to pass every 6 months to qualify to work on or around the missiles. The pic of the key in the lock is the most interesting, I think. We hear people talk about "pushing the button" to launch a missile, but that's not true. It's actually the keys that have to be put into two different locks that are physically separated far enough that one person couldn't do it as the keys have to be turned simultaneously. Just opening the compartment where the keys are stored takes an act of congress (literally) or an "EWO" (emergency war order) from the President. So launching a missile by someone gone mad ain't gonna happen.

Also, the destination where any one missile is intended for is changed every 6 months too as are the combinations on the locks to get into the missiles. I had to go thru the combination changed drill 3 times in the nearly two years I worked Minuteman Security and it was a major pain. Each combination had to be exact, not just close like your old high school locker. And to verify that it was correct, the team changing the combination had to try it three times after changing the combination to verify that it was correct. If you tried it only once or twice and tried to put it back together the 'capsule crew' (the guys that actually launch the missile) could tell the correct number of tries have not happened and will call you on the radio and ask what's going on? Complicated system.
