    Default Lehman Tripple Tree Bearings

    If Jim Murphy were still with us my question would be targeted to him, however I'm hoping that someone in the Lehman world can shed some light.

    I have a 2012 GL1800 with a Monarch II Lehman kit. It was built new in Oct. / Nov of 2012 in the Spearfish SD facility with a 5 dregree tripple tree. (Probably one of the last to be built there) I would like to know if it was a standard procedure at that facility to replace the Honda OEM Steering Stem bearings (Balls & plastic cage) with the "Roller Ball" Type currently used "

    I realize that removing the top plate would give me that answer but I'm trying to save myself some work.

    Well heres what Ive seen. 2 years ago I had my bearings changed. My triple tree was a 3.5 degree supposedly installed at the factory in 2007. The top bearings were ball,the bottom were roller bearings. The mechanic was just as shocked as I was when he took it apart. Mine was 1 of 2 that I had seen that same way done. Until you open it up its anybodies guess.

    Thanks for the response Nick. I was hoping that someone on Trike talk might have worked for Lehman in Spearfish back in those days and night recall what the did with the bearing configurations. I guess I'm going to have to pull it apart thats proppaply the only was to be sure. If I do that I'll replace with "All Balls" and be done with it.

    You mean the company, but using their tapered roller bearings don't you?

    Yes I would use the tapered roller bearings from "All Balls" Racing
