    Hi Alla'all ;

    I recently had the opportunity to ride a Freewheeler and was shocked at the ride and handling.

    I have ridden a few Goldwing trikes and there was nothing to compare between the two.

    The Goldwing's have IRS

    Do the newer Freewheelers come with IRS or is it possible to retro fit IRS to one ??

    Any idea how much an IRS setup would cost ?

    I think it would be around $ 10000.00 Having it done by a shop. maybe a little less you do the work yourself, Then if it was still under Harley warranty That would be cancelled.

    The factory does not have independent suspension for the trike line
    Nuff Said," Were Burnin Daylight, Lets Ride"(Sober 37 years)
    Current ride : 2021 FREEWHEELER M8, oldest ride 1960 FL

    I thought HD rejected independent suspension as having poorer handling, disconcerning cornering and for the added expense just wasn't worth the effort. It's hardly worth comparing a Goldwing Trike to a Freewheeler. They're not designed for the same thing.

    Thanks for the replies , I really appreciate the help .

    I like the idea of the Freewheeler because it reminds me of my Road King, no radio, just a wind screen and a detachable GPS .

    The one I test rode was so bad, ride and steering wise. I thought it was broken .

    Took it back to the shop and they said that's how they all ride . If that's the case then I'll pass.

    The shop wasn’t lying….But just to ease your mind go to a different dealer and do another test ride…There’s a lot of things you can spend your money on to convince you it rides a little better…But it’s all relative…They are what they are 🤔..

    The Freewheeler is a sport trike. The Goldwing is, well a Goldwing. A two wheeled Cadillac (or in this case a three wheeled conversion) designed for biking comfort and luxury, as much as a trike can be luxurious out in the open weather and all. If you want a Cadillac fine, just don't expect a Corvette to be the same thing.

    Once I got the air pressure in the shocks dialed in, the rides on our Freewheelers is just fine.

    Here is a company that makes and IRS system for Harley trikes - both TG and FW - but it ain't cheap - almost $10k for the kit plus install plus any options you might want. Does look very well made and robust.
