Default working clutch killing my hand.

Have a 2011 tri glide. The clutch grip is killing my knuckles. What or is there a kit that make's pulling the clutch less hard on my hand. Appreciate any info from my other rider's.

Check with your dealer to see if a lighter diaphragm spring is available

Have you looked into a easy pull kit, just google Easy pull clutch and they run less than $20

Perhaps investing in one of those spring grip exercise do-hickeys. Squeeze it for a while when sitting around doing nothing. Remember when we were young and did exercises to build strength? I have a couple of 5 lb dumb bells next to my recliner. In the evenings I will do some arm and shoulder exercises while watching the tube, especially a few weeks before an extended ride. It does help..... Jim

thank you for the info I see a kit to buy for the HD tri glide. It is supposed to make it easier to pull in the clutch.

That is a good idea also. But I am 67 years' old and a Vietnam vet. My body is not what it used to be for sure. I am just lucky to be alive and enjoy every day I am here on earth. I have had motorcycles ever since I was a kid started with a Cushman minibike and moved up to a real bike

once I got a driver's license. Drove To CA. From Fl. many times back in the 70's. Had a knuckle head on one trip and a shovel head on the other trips. Been through every state in the union as far as I know on a bike. It is sad that our body's don't work like they use too. So just to let everyone know I have over 50 plus year's riding bikes of all kinds but stay with Harley's now. They never let me down. Sorry to ramble on but appreciate the insight and thought of what you are suggesting. Thanks, Old Hippie.

Thank you for that info. Will check that out I see a kit that gives you and easy pull. Maybe I can adapt a hydraulic system to the bike. I don't know. After the dealer ship charging so much to do anything I do my own mechanic work as much as possible. Have owned many Harleys and have torn down motor and rebuilt them myself. I am retired and have more time than money. LOL. Thank you again and will check that out. Old Hippie appreciates the input.

Have you tried to find an adjustable clutch lever …. I had one on my 2017 and it brought the lever closer to the grip which made for a very light pull and short Squeeze to engage or disengage the clutch..

SoftBrakes reduced reach clutch lever did the job for old DAV. My handicap effects my hand strength and I suffered a lot of pain before finding these levers.

+1 I have had these on my 16 and now my 20 Tri Glide. They do work!

Well, at 74 I may not qualify as an "old fart", at least in my own mind. But I do find exercise helps me to be active and allows me to be able to participate in what I want..... Jim

Try an AIM Centrifugal clutch. I put one on my 2011 RGU it was great! Pull was light and smooth.

The easy pull is a simple set of parts that goes in the outer trans cover that changes the angle at which the clutch cable pulls, if you google Easy pull clutch it will show up and Amazon has them for $20.00 .

My 2018 seems like it is harder to pull in than my 2002 road king but I live with it. I have carpal tunnel and that don't help and I won't do the surgery for it, I know to many people that had it done and now worse than before, so I will leave as be. I go the quickest to highway, around town it is a bi--h and that I why I drive highway all the time, only 2 miles for me to get to highway or interstate.

    All for now Trampas

    Default Hard clutch lever

Ok Guy's all the info was grate. Have one motorcycle mechanic I have known for years. We looked at the easy clutch fix and decided it would not work because it would hit the inner cover on my bike. So found an 18-degree ramp that drag speculates sells. Now it is not cheap but well worth the money by not having hand surgery. LOL. Also looked at putting a hydraulic clutch on. But that would run into a thousand or more dollars. So, when I get it installed will let everyone know how it works. Old Hippie.

You need to do some maintenance on your clutch cable

What I am saying here is good lubrication goes a long way, not only to the cable but the lever and perch ( including the lever pin)

You will be amazed how much this helps

Do not forget a proper adjusted clutch ( there is a lever free play adjustment and a clutch basket adjustment) on a cold engine that should be done at least once a year
