Question for RoadSmith owners

We need pictures.

Pictures wouldn't do any good - appearance is exactly the same, can't tell 'em apart. But the secondary detent (not visible) is gone. Just snap the latch under the top trunk and with the same hand flip the lid. :10:

Now, if I can figure out a place to mount a light spring . . . :yes:

GOOD NEWS! Received the free one-handed opening latch today and installed it.

I went to their website, found the "contact us" tab and wrote to them about the latch problem. They immediately offered me a new latch. The RoadSmith kit was installed in Feb, 2011. So it may be a 2010 or a 2011. If your kit is older it is still worth a try - they want happy customers. :yes:

Don't believe that would work since with the old style latch with the detent you have to hold the latch under the upper trunk in the pulled position while opening the big trunk door with the other hand.

Call Roadsmith and they now have single latch.
They were using double latch like an auto hood (safety catch).
