    Default rear fender trim

I have a chip on my right fender edge that I’d like to cover up.

Also I’d like to add some protection to prevent future chips.

I have touched up the chip using the Harley paint touch up kit.

That hides it pretty well and likely I’m the only one that really notices it .

I know Harley sells a trim kit for the Triglide but I don’t think anything for the Freewheeler.

Looking to see if anybody out there has installed edge trim or are aware of other options.

I am probably going to add a pair of Frank’s fender bibs but that will not provide any real protection for the fender edge.

    Frank's provides great protection.

I was looking at the Harley Triglide bibs as I found that they will fit the Freewheeler.

I thought the look was pretty good and the price was only around $100.

However I read some reviews that they have caused damage to the fender finish.

Also they cover more of the fender than I need or want.

I ordered my “Frank’s” front and rear bibs today.

I went with the same setup as what is on your Wife’s Freewheeler.

Based on your pictures it appears the “Frank’s” bibs will conceal the pre-mentioned edge chip so they address that need of mine as well.

Also Frank is a retired Veteran and I always if it all possible patronize Veteran owned businesses.

All of those bibs will eventually damage the paint unless you remove them after a ride and clean the area underneath, otherwise moisture will build up which can fog the paint and wind buffeting will cause the bib to rub the area no matter how tightly they are fitted. If you like the look of the bibs then by all means run with it, but anticipate never removing them, because your paint will show a faded and worn well defined area if you do. I speak from experience.

As an added layer of protection I will be installing the Harley “Transparent Paint Guard Kit” that will be under the bibs.

Also I keep everything highly waxed, very clean and rarely do I ride in the rain but if I do get it wet I would remove the bibs to allow them to dry.

Of course there’s always the chance that the paint finish will get scuffed by the bib but I personally think that’s less likely given the Transparent Paint Guard Kit along with keeping the fenders clean and well waxed.

Frank's fit skin tight. The wind doesn't cause them to move nor does moisture have an easy way in.

I put them on my wife's after a few stone chips. I touched those up with a match from her vast collection of nail polish.

I took your advice from a previous post.

My Frank’s bibs are in route and should be here on Monday.

    Thanks again for the recommendation.

I put the paint guard kit on my trike as well. The smaller pieces came out nice, but the fenders look craptacular. I had a hard time keeping the pieces from stretching and my squeegee was too big so it's all bubbly, so I got a set of bibs from Frank's too. I'm going to keep the kit on since they will be hidden by the bibs.

I got them but haven’t had time to install them.

The instructions say it’s best to have a second person to help stretch them on so I’ve been at the mercy of my Wife’s schedule.

I did ask her if she’d help me put on my leather bra this weekend and she looked at me a bit funny and replied “sure if that makes you happy” . My Son threw up and left the room.

My wife assisted when I put on the front fender bra, (requires removal of fender.). I did the rear by myself, with a lot of patience.

You'll be pleased at how well they fit. Very snug and wrinkle free.

Finally got around to getting the bras/chaps installed.

I decided not to install the clear film kit so if anyone’s interested in that shoot me an IM.

Very pleased with the quality of the leather and fit.

Installation wasn’t too bad once I figured out how to read.

The left side took me probably 45 Minutes, the right side took me 15 minutes, and the front fender probably about 30 minutes.

I still need to let them sit in the sun for a little bit and then readjust them.
