Cruise not working now.

Thought I would make a new post. I did post the same thing in a previous thread.

I put the Khrome Werks Narrow Sweepers on my 2013 Trike and now the cruise doesn't work. What could I have missed? Everything appears to be installed correctly. The throttle turns just fine. Any help is appreciated. Thx in advance.

Possibly a wrong wire connected. I know it can happen. (don't ask me how !! lol)

John, look here, ( but first, does your cruise light come on to begin with? If not recheck your connections, look for a pinched wire first)

1. bike off, run/stop to run

2. push set/resume to set and hold.

3 with cruise on/off switch to on, turn on bike

4. cruise indicator light should be green, release set switch, light should turn red.

5. push to resume and release, light should turn green then red

6. push throttle closed and release, light should turn green then red

7. push rear brake pedal and release, light should turn green then red

8. pull front brake lever, light should turn green then red

9. on models with a clutch/neutral starter lockout, pull clutch lever, light should turn green then red

whichever switch does not turn the light green, is your bad one.

if light will not turn green at all and you have followed ALL directions and tried multiple times, your set/resume switch is bad.

If light stays green even after releasing set switch, one of the dropout switches is stuck closed, usually the roll off throttle switch. unplug this and try again.

make sure brake light will not turn on without using brakes (wobbly brake lever, stuck rear brake light switch etc.)

When I first tried this routine, the cruise light stayed green for every step and the brake lights weren't working. I took the control and brake lever off the right side and wiggled the wires and checked them then put everything back together. The brake lights worked and all the steps you posted worked as they should. Haven't physically rode the bike but I suspect the cruise will work fine now.

Glad you got it fixed. When I installed my 2+2 Narrow Sweepers I too had an OMG moment during my test ride. Cruise would not engage. Then I noticed my gear position sensor was blank. After stopping at a gas station and eyeing everything (but seeing no problem) I jumped back on and hit the start button thinking it was in neutral but it was in gear and it jumped forward. So the neutral safety switch was not working on the left handgrip. Back home I found that somehow (probably could not duplicate in 100 years) I had reinstalled the clutch perch in such a way that the neutral safety switch was depressed and not releasing. The 'system' saw that the clutch was pulled in so the starter would engage even if in gear, the cruise would not engage and the gear position also goes blank when the clutch is pulled in. Repositioning the clutch perch fixed everything. Man 'o man these things can really do a number on you.
