    My pleasure.

I actually got two - one for my house generator 8700 unit. This generator can pull most of my house and sits outside under the deck (sheltered mostly from the weather.

During the winter here, even with a trickle charger, that little battery sort of drains a bit. It is OK during the warmer weather.

So, if I go outside to start it, and the battery is wesk, I simply hook up my jump and, away she goes.

My garage is on one side of the house and the power box is on the other side. From my back shelter, I have a cable that runs into the system, start the generator and flip the switches.

Generator will power everything except the central air. My Generac is about 13 years old and runs on gasoline. Cost me about $800 back then. About $400 to have it connected with transfer switch. Thought that was much better than the $10,000 they wanted for the auto connect unit.

Worried that my old unit would fail, I purchased another one that is 10K - dual fuel, gasoline and propane. That new on is in the garage because the old Generac is still running strong. I start them once a month for about 10 minutes - did that yesterday

My panel is just inside the Garage door. Run the cord out the door, fire it up & close the door. Cost about the same for switches & install. If I ever have to replace, I will go with the auto system ,now available for natural gas. Much easier for old farts like me.

Hopefully, you will not have to replace it.

I looked into the natural gas one that is automatic...well, hold your back pocket - that thing installed is about $13,000. My sister in Virginia has one and several folks in our neighborhood has them.

We lose power maybe 3-4 times per year. Since mine is already outside, it is just a matter of hitting the switch.

Were you able to order that cable?

This could be a valuable thread. I keep my bikes on a tender if I’m out of pocket for a while or during the winter. But every so often I would have liked the option of a jump starting the bike to get a low battery to fire it up. Taking the seat and CPU pack off to directly connect is a suck ass option.

so how would you connect the Earth Ex cable interface to a car battery?

(apologize if I’m being dense here)

The jump pack I have seen, have clamps that just go on like jumper cables.for the car. The Earth Ex cable, hooks to the bike battery & then the jump pack I am getting has that blue plug that would hook to the jump pack to start the bike. I just received mine ^ dont have it installed yet as the jump pack is not here yet.

You mentioned a car battery - did you mean the bike battery?

All you have to do is connect the leads to the battery, tighten the nuts down. Once connected, just plug the other end into your jump starter and start the bike.

Now if you are talking about a car battery, there really is not a need for the earthlink. Just connect the cables from the jump starter directly to the battery (or the positive connector under the hood)

Got my jump pak finally. Now for a somewhat warm day,so I can install the "earthlink" to battery & bring it out behind the right side panel. Jumper came in a nice carry case & several connectors for a cell phone also. Got a good deal on ebay. Jump Starter Car Auto Battery Jump Starter Portable 2500A Charger 28000mAh

A "side of the road" option to get around taking the seat off is to connect the positive to the starter motor (that goes straight to the positive terminal on the battery) and the negative goes just wherever makes sense.

Glad it arrived - looks nice. Here might be a suggestion. Instead of bringing it by the panel, just bring it up in the seat (the cutout for the back rest.

Seems to work well for me.

None at all. At first, I thought I would zip tie it to the backrest - but, never needed to do that. I actually push mine back down so it is not visible. The seat separation these gives you plenty of space to push it down and pull it up.

Worried that my old unit would fail, I purchased another one that is 10K - dual fuel, gasoline and propane. That new on is in the garage because the old Generac is still running strong. I start them once a month for about 10 minutes - did that yesterday
