2022 ride. Just go
We never let the worlds news stop us from living. 2020 under COV 19. We rode as we always do. Also toured 11 days on the Rig with 2 Grandchildren with us.
2021 Smoky mountains and other rides.
2022 May. 20 plus days WI to FL to TN to home. August Sharkweek Appleton WI, Sept week in Clarksville TN. Other trips in the works but these are set in stone reservation made.
Plan to live your life. Don't let others make the plan for you.
Looks like I will be giving my fleet a year off.
Fl,TN ride is on. All en-route reservation have been made at fair rates. It took some shopping to avoid over paying. Some place were down right out of their minds with rates over double
what you would expect. In one case must have been a big event going on. A motel that normally would have maxed at $150 was $965 a night. Motel 6 I know for a fact is a crack house was $165 a night.
No for me I just altered the route a little and avoided that.
Setup a day to look around Savannah GA en-route north . Lived in Glenco GA just south of it 49 years ago. I am assuming the area has changed a bit.
Get out ride this country while you can. There is a movement coming that wants to restrict your ability to travel. Get out ride see why that is a bad idea. Don't waste a day of your freedom.
Heading south May 11. Things to get done. After church today decided to get the Car tire wheel on the bike and be ready to mount sidecar back on.
Friend shows up and next thing you know we are bolt the sidecar on. Test ride all was good ,no adjustments needed.
We did lose one mounting bolt. But I had a spare. The lost one was in my pocket found it after digging out the spare.
So that meant another test ride just to be sure.
That meant next weeks rush job is already done. I am sure the wife will find more for me to do.

Weather here in Michigan is constantly changing - snowing today - supposed to get 4 inches. Then, going to be 76 on Sunday, go figure.
5 days and down the road. Had to shorten it a few days but 17 days is still a good ride. Most of our trips have no purpose other than go. This time we have some people to visit. Few place to see again.
Clarksville TN, Valdosta GA, Palm Coast FL. spend some time visiting and riding the area. Savannah GA. Visit Glynco GA. Spartanburg SC kill a day , Gatlinburg TN . Spend time riding a place we love to ride. Bloomington IL then back to WI. I have not been back to Glynco GA in 49 years. I need to see the place one more time. The base is no longer there.
Rig is inspected and ready to roll. Put new sidecar tire on. Wife started packing already. I can pack and be out the door in 15 minutes. If we get the chance we will cut out a day early and take the long way to Clarksville TN. Parts of the trip have short distances for the day so we can detour if we want to. And I know we will.
All lodging has been taken care of well in advance. I did add a fair amount to the fuel part of the budget. This trip was setup last year and things have changed a bit.

Day 1 was 627.5 mile to Clarksville TN. A great ride. Day two 525 miles to Valdosta GA another great day. Day 3 was only 200 miles. But it took us about 320 to get there . Went off on a different route. In Ormond Beach FL staying on the beach.
Today some sights to visit an see some family in Palm coast.

Was in a prefect place to see it all right on Ormond beach FL on the 5th floor on obstructions.
No lights to cause issues.
One more day in this area. head north to Savanna GA. tomorrow. Easy 200 mile ride. left extra time to met up with another sidecar rider and see some of Savanna. I lived just south of it for a while many years ago.
