Trunk Lock Fix

It looks like I have finally found the fix for my trunk opening while going down the road. I found Iron head Tri-Glide trunk locks. I bought the latch assembly and installed on my Trike it seems to work great will know more for sure after riding this summer, but it appears to put a dependable lock assembly in the bike made out of metal not plastic opens and closes great with solid latching system so far i am happy. If you do get it plan on a couple of hours to install but well worth it. I originally found it on Facebook

I had the same problem but after I adjusted the pin and stopped slamming it shut I haven’t had it open while going down the road anymore.

Right now they are $ 265. it is electric open with back-up mechanical everything was bolt/ plug and play

I've read about this, watched his videos and emailed him with some questions. Definitely think it will work but for me the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. I don't like the fact that it's actuated electrically and requires a key to open - it's always 'locked.' Don't like the emergency release in case of key loss or loss of power. It requires drilling a large hole in the body and the cable can break or come loose from the ferrule. I'll keep my stock lock mechanism adjusted and lubed. Have never had a problem with my '18 or now my '20 with combined mileage of almost 50k. jmho
