Cracked Fender
My right rear fender has two inside cracks located about an inch and two inches above the bottom (when viewed from the back of the bike). I have after market mud flaps on and I'm not sure if I scraped a low drive or rolled over something on a night ride.
My question is has anyone replaced a fender through Harley? I tried looking them up on their site but couldn't find anything. Would it be cheaper to have it fixed considering matching the paint, etc?

Back when i had my 16 billet silver a i had a 1/4" chip that i had fixed over the winter. I removed the fender & it cost me 475.00 I thought that quite expensive but much cheaper than a fender. I would get a couple estimates & see which is least painful.
I purchased my 2015 Freewheeler with fender damage on the trailing edge in 2017. I had it repaired for less than $300 and now, 5 years later, it still looks perfect. Like Arnie, I pulled the fender and took it to the shop. I believe the new color matched fender was listed around $1000 with around a 60 day wait. Good luck with your decision.
I seen somewhere where you can get harley fenders etc etc, wow harley really puts a high price on them, now granted they are painted already but still very high IMHO. As the other posters said it might be cheaper to have a good body shop do the repair and I mean a good body shop.Originally Posted by ISP-FL

Just looked to see the price of a fender, around $1,000, very high. Don't know about how long but with the shipping and how far back logged and the ports being jam pack full it could take forever. I'm sure harley doesn't haven't it stock in your color and pretty sure about that or even one that isn't painted, but I could be wrong but the price would scare me, I would find a excellent body shop.
This was at Ronnie's where I looked by the way as a poster said also.

P.S. If you have body shop repair, take the fender off and take in, then you can still ride the trike, otherwise they may have it for a long time
Had a retired buddy look at my fender. He used to work at a body shop and has a lot of experience working on fiberglass. He thinks from the position of the crack someone, or something, hit the rear outside edge of the fender and that caused the crack on the inside lower curve. Anyway, he has offered to fix it. He doesn't have any paint equipment anymore so I'll have to either find a shop for that or possibly do a partial vinyl fender wrap.
Either way I'm not giving Harley or anyone else $1,000 or more for a fender.

I was about to start a thread about what I discovered when I washed the latest rainstorm and dust off my trike when I came across this thread.
Here is what I discovered;
If and when I get it repaired and painted I think I will match the paint on my truck.

That would be an idea, the truck's red it pretty nice. The longer I wait the more options I can come up with. I have seen some aftermarket swept-back style trike fenders that look pretty nice. I have always wanted a pearl white trike, so there is another option. Bite the bullet and just repaint the whole darn thing.
