Voyager trike kit loses traction

We recently put a Voyager kit on my wife's Honda Shadow VLX 600. I installed it with the provided 1/2 inch preload, however she keeps losing traction and her rear tire just spins. Do I need more preload or less? Or is this a completely unrelated issue? Any advice would e greatly appreciated.

You would want to use less pre-load on the unit. If she's a light weight individual you'd need a little less. I had a GL1500 Goldwing with a Voyager and had the pre-load set with an inch and a quarter. The Goldwing is heavy and I'm no light weight either.
