2014 Clutch Cover Removal

I bought my 2014 TG from a person that didn't do well keeping up maintenance. I need to flush the clutch fluid. I can't get the decorative slave cylinder cover off the end of the transmission to get at the bleeder.

I've moved clamps, removed the heat shield/beauty cover, and exhausted my knowledge of foul language fighting this thing. Still the two bolt head dimples on the bottom of the cover won't clear the header pipe off of the rear cylinder.

Two questions:

1) Does the exhaust header have to be disconnected at the rear cylinder exhaust?

2) Is there an after market cover that will eliminate this problem?

You can loosen the head pipes and exhaust hangars to get that bugger out, or if you just move the cover out as far as you can reach in from the front with a quarter inch extension and socket to reach the bleeder, when you are done flush the inside of the faux cover with a lot of water

This is pretty much how to get enough clearance to get the cover off without completely removing the exhaust. Loosen the head pipe bolts enough to rotate the exhaust out until it clears. There is also a single attachment point brace in the center underneath the exhaust that has to have the nut loosened or removed to get it to angle outwards. And you may also have to loosen the crossover pipe clamp too.

I use a 1/4 drive 1/2" shallow swivel socket on a 8" 1/4 drive extension 1/4 rachet to loosen the head bolts.

Once you get the cover off cut about 1/2”off of the bottom edge. That way you can get it off next time without loosening the pipes. You can’t see the bottom of the cover when it’s installed.
