Hi Michelle, to Trike Talk
If you have an old Turkey baster you do not care about, stick it in the oil tank and suck some out
Too much oil is not a good thing, it will cause extra drag on the flywheels and you will end up with oil carry over into the intake

Welcome to the forums Michelle, what Jack suggested is what works, I use a turkey baster also when necessary.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...Holy Sh!t What a ride!
Harbor Freight sells a suction gun for $13.00. Way better than a baster that tends to dribble out- at least thats been my experience.
I think everybody’s getting ahead of themselves what does completely full mean when “Cold”.. Is the level on the full mark or a half inch above the full mark?? the oil should be checked when it’s warm or hot ….Not cold.. my advice to a newbie would be to the check when it’s warm or hot before you decide take any oil out…

Picked up my 2016 Freewheeler last August and have done 3 oil changes since that time. The manual says 4 qts. of oil but it is really more like 3.5 or you will be overfull.
If you have to much you can get some out as suggest with a turkey baster, oil transfer pump or Mityvac.

3 weeks ago I installed the oil temp sensor into the drain bung for the new Dakota Digital speedo. If your quick you can install it without losing much oil they said. We do it all the time they said. But I dropped the sensor. Whats the use might as drain the pan all the way. Cold fill was over the mark so I sucked some out. Went on a 20 mile shakedown ride consisting of two lane and four lane. Oil temp at end of ride was 172 degrees. Hot check showed low so I added oil. Go figure.
It seems like the OP Is a one hit poster..??

I guess you can do what you want. But it's not like we're being flooded with new members. Just sayin.
I looked and looked but I cant find the oil tank. I think my M8 has a manufacturing defect. Maybe I'll write the MoCo.
