I apologize for the repeat of a turn signal problem but, I couldn't find a post to fit my scenario. I picked up this 2001 GL1800 about 6 months ago and has been flawless so far. My front left turn signal and the running light suddenly isn't working. The left rear works ok and the indicator is flashing double speed which, to me, usually indicates a bad bulb. The bulb is good and no power going to the socket. The entire right side functions fine. The only thing I did to it recently was pull the CD player out of the trunk since it doesn't work. I performed the usual layman test by wiggling all connectors and wires that look like they're related just to see if there's a sudden flash of light. My first question is, should there be a constant ground at the socket? Because continuity check shows nothing. Secondly, does the signal go to the rear first, then in series go to the front? If that's the case, I may just have a cut wire someplace. Anyone have a thought I could check before I take it to a dealer? I'm no stranger to wiring checks but mostly simple stuff. I'm not real savy with relay/controller type circuits though. I should mention I can't double check with the hazards because that switch was taken apart and parts missing before I bought the trike. Yes, it has a Champion conversion. I'm still trying to figure out how I would change a rear bulb if I had to. I don't see an access yet.
UPDATE: Problem solved. Using a meter, I could get ground continuity and then lose it by moving the socket in and out slightly. Techdude2000 pointed out the connector behind the mirror pod. It was so loose, it came apart just by pulling the cable through an inch. I left this post in case someone encounters the same thing. Chalk up another one for 'Occam's Razor'.
