Hello all, new to the trike community. I've been riding 60 plus years, all makes, all sizes.
Having purchased a 2008 HPN with a Roadsmith conversion early this year my test drive was limited to city streets, low speeds.
I've noticed a concerning vibration at higher speeds, starts @ 35 or so on up to 60 where it backs off. Pulling in the clutch at speed - vibration remains.
So, changed u joints, no improvement. They were scored from lack of lube.
Discovered someone had installed winter car tires - changed out yesterday, no improvement. wheel bearings were loose. retorqued to spec.
My question is this : what is the procedure for CV joint to determine if it's bad?
I've talked to a Doug at Roadsmith ( who is extremely helpful) and agree that the CV is rarely the problem as are the wheel bearings. But i want to eliminate all possibilities.
Differential ?
I was thinking of replacing the drive shaft as a what if ??
Thank you, ride safe, Dave
