New parts that are defective?

Has anyone ever gotten new parts that are defective? I just put an S&S Cam Kit in my bike and I have one tappet/lifter that is very noisy. I have adjusted the about 6 or 8 times and finally gotten three of the four quiet. Not the front exhaust tappet is quite loud, with my stethoscope it sounds like someone beating an anvil with a 4 pound hammer. I put the exhaust system back on yesterday for the third time. My next step is to swap the tappets around and see if the noise follows. Every source of info says to adjust the pushrods differently. JP Cycles says 3 turns plus 2 flats, S&S says 4 turns and Fuel Moto says 3 and half turns. How do I clear my O2 sensors codes out of my ECM?

I have S&S lifters in my 17 along with a S&S cam. Under normal running and idling its quite, but on occasion on start-up it will rattle but not always. Even though I had the upgraded oil pump installed.

Yes, we receive new parts on the regular that are defective.

While we make most of the parts that we sell, there are some smaller component parts that we purchase to sell, or to add to our parts that we make.

Quality has always been important to us, so we always test parts we buy before packaging them up. Yes, this takes extra time up front, but it save our Customers time in getting a bad part, and it also saves us time in having to reship.

Getting bad parts has just become part of the process of buying from assembly line manufacturing, where a human that cares never touches the part.

We try and catch everything, not saying nothing ever slips by us, but it is not very often.

I periodically walk by our pile of parts that we have bought that did not pass inspection. It can be empty on Friday, and then quite large a week or two later. Sad state of affairs.

That is a great idea to move it, then if it follows, you can let them know with confidence that they need to replace it for you.
