    Default Tire Pressure Question

so "New to Trikes" as in conversion was done a month ago... My Dealer recommended right side tire be 35 but left side tire be 25 ... Road Crown was the reason given.... I'm a bit leery of this and have so far been most comfortable at 24 right side and 18 left side... anyone else every deal with this or should I run them both the same ... thx in advance..

Hi Robert, to Trike Talk and your first post

I would suggest 22-24 PSI in both rear tires, try that , it should ride smooth and track just fine

Welcome Robert. Your rear tires should be the same pressures for both. You didn't indicate what trike model you have but assuming it is a newer Goldwing and running a traditional motorcycle front tire, that should be kept at 41-42 PSI. Your rears should be 22-25 PSI. I keep mine at 23. Having different pressures in the rear only makes sense if you are going straight on a constantly angled, crowned road and never go around any corners. Good luck..... Jim

Rob….Run both the rear tires with the same PSI….And if you have to talk tires and PSI with that dealer again..”Don’t!”…

Your dealer is a idiot. Always run the same pressure in the rear tires 22-26 is the norm

Both rear tires should be the same pressure.

    We run 22-24.

Take a look at this screenshoy if a manual. I know it's for a different brand (Lehman Master Manual) but it has a very good explanation on the rear trike tires. Hopefully you can enlarge it and be able to read it.

As far as mine, I usually run the rear tires at about 22psi and front around 36-38psi. I have found that running 41-42psi on front tire makes the ride a bit rough as the roads I commonly drive on are not the greatest. On trips where the roads are better, I have bumped it up but locally I keep it below 40.

So I set both tires to 20 psi and the ride is better as well as the handling, may mess with it further as time goes by.... left front tire at 42 .... Its a VTX1800T with a Motor Trike Conversion.... Has 5 way adjustable shocks and air bags as well .... Looking forward to taking it on a color tour in northern Michigan this year...

When I had my trike built, I have to say that my builder also told me to run two different pressures in the rear tires also....(that surprised me too) BUT now I just put in 22#'s in each tire.................
