Here is a bit more info

Dealers will update the software on Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles.

On Trike and CVO Trike motorcycles, a new pressure switch will also be installed.

All repairs will be performed free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 26, 2022.

Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at (800) 258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0635.

Hey - just had my bike in for service - and now the cruise is not working. It lights up when I hit the switch but, does not engage.

Bike went back to the shop the other day - and now I wonder if this recall is the issue. If the sensor is telling the bike that it is open, then the cruise will not engage

Just checked my 2020 FLRT, yep it is included. I am tempted to skip it due to the gross incompetence I have experienced at my dealership. In a nutshell, I don't trust them to not f something up and since I am out of warranty, if they do F something up they will probably try to charge me to fix it.

Haven't been able to find any info on how common a problem this is. Is this one of those "it happened to four or five bikes" or is it being reported by lots of riders? Anybody hear anything?

This is the first I have heard about it. I do not recall anyone posting that they have experienced the problem on any of the forums I visit.

If you don't use the cruse control or someone behind you doesn't tell you that the brake lights are always on you might not know?.....A few months ago i was doing something in my garage with the trike lights on when i walk behind it i noticed the license plate light was out...I thought the bulb bunt out, But when i took the back panel off the trunk door i found that the power wire was un-pluged not loose but completely off and just laying there...Probably was that was from day one..Two + years ?....

I had never heard about it - but, as mentioned, my converted trike cruise now does not work. Dealer told my bike it is now a trike so I could install the TPMS on the rear wheels.

So, we are hoping that this is the fix.

I'm hearing the rear brake light switch is the culprit. Something to do with getting too hot from being near the cat converter. Anyone know where this part is actually located? What it looks like? I was looking at Harley's parts schematics and didn't find it. I'd like to see this thing before deciding when I'll call up to get it done.

    Apples to Oranges..???

With my 2011 Triglide –It was right down by my right ankle next to the catalyst converter and pipes it wasn’t actually a switch it was the brake reservoir..?.. with my 17 Triglide and now my 19 Triglide the catalyst converter is installed by the factory a few inches downstream on the pipes from earlier models ..?

I replaced my rear brake switch last year when it went out on my 2016. It is by the rear brake pedal and right next to the head pipe from the front cylinder. My cruise not working was the first indication and then I noticed my break lights staying on. No problems since.

What's the connection of the cruise control to the brake light issue?

I stopped at my dealer to make an appointment. They said that the mother ship hasn't sent out the switch yet and they don't expect it till around Thanksgiving. They complained that they didn't even know about it till customers started calling about it. Not surprising at all.

My 22 Freewheeler is affected. By Thanksgiving no telling what the weather will be like around here. Once they put the salt on the roads it gets parked till the salt gets washed off with a couple of good rains. Sounds like a project for next year. Hoping for a short winter.

On my '21 Freewheeler the cat converter is back by the rear wheel. I don't see anything resembling a switch anywhere near it. The brake master cylinder assembly is forward of the front header pipe and several inches inboard of it. Don't see how heat is causing it a problem there. There's something called a Sensor Press attached to the ABS system under the right removable panel. There doesn't appear to be any connection to the brake lights, but it's the closest thing I've found trying to figure out what HD's talking about.

I have done a once over looking for a rear brake light switch on the 21 FLRT, the only switch I see is the one you posted

What I do know is the rear switch on my 15 FLRT was right next to the front header pipe, that was a real stupid place to put it IMO

My 17 FLRT was the same as the 15

There appears to be 2 switches on my 2019 Trike, one looks like the switch actuated by the foot brake and the other looks to be actuated by the ABS/Dual link system somehow.

I need to get looking at my trike rear brake system to see where the one actuated by the foot brake is located.

Do not know which one is affected by the recall.
