If You plan to participate in a Group Ride atthe RALLY IN THE VALLEY IV Post Here...

I know a lot of You will just get out and explore and ride on Your Own, or in small Groups with Your Friends. Since there will be some Group Rides though that will require Leaders and Sweepers/Tailgunners, it would be great to have a rough idea how many Folks we will have. I have Very Capable Volunteers, so we can get an idea how large or small of Groups we can divide everyone into.

I plan on Friday's Ride being the longest, with Saturday's Route somewhat shorter so as not to interfere with the Museum and Cookout. Mitzie and I are not leaving until Monday, June 27th, so I'm up for a "Just-Get-Out-And-Explore" Ride on Sunday also....

If You don't mind, please list:

(1) Which Day(s) You plan to participate in a Group Ride

(2) How many Years/Months/Miles/etc. You have ridden Motorcycles/Trikes

(3) If You have ever ridden in the Maggie Valley/Smokies Area before

Skuuter can we see how many of our guides hace CB radios? I think it would be a benefit to communicate between the leader and sweeper.

IF I manage to have my trike with me :innocent::innocent:....

(1) I might consider the Saturday "short" ride, possibly Sunday too (I'm not planning to leave until Monday either), as long as I'm not holding anyone else back - if so, I'll skip the group rides and explore on my own! No problem!

(2) I've got less than 8,000 miles or less experience - not a whole lot, that's for sure!! (Which is why I generally don't do group rides yet)

(3) I rode Maggie Valley into Cherokee last year in my 4Runner........doesn't count, does it?

I hope to be able to keep the Group(s) small enough to be very manageable without a CB Link (My Gold Wing isn't equipped with one either...), but They would be Great if Both have em'.....

I will be postin' a "Thumbnail/Rough Plan" of my (Long) Friday Ride, and (Shorter) Saturday Ride in a Thread soon. I also plan to provide "Turn-by-Turn" written instructions also if my plans work out right.....not that "right" always happens.....

I will also be running a Pace that works well, and with no intimidation for even the slowest, least experienced Riders we have. I have led Rides for many, many years, and thousands of miles with Riders of all skill levels, so liesurely cruisin' along will be fine with me. My Motto is this: I would rather have Ten Expert Riders bored, than One Novice Rider stressed.....

We would like to do the Sat. group ride for sure and a maybe on the Fri. run as well. I have been on 2 wheels just shy of 50 years but only on a trike since last Nov., will be close to 3500 miles on the trike when we get to Maggie Valley. Also being from Colorado, we have never been anywhere close to North Carolina but are very anxious to see the sights of the Smokey Mountains. Cant wait for June to get here. Fast Eddie, I was also on a X6 Hustler in June of 1969, but all I could do was run around Oahu, Hawaii. haha

I think Friday and Sunday, depending on the weather. Its kinda hard to guess that far in advance.
Iv'e road two wheelers for 40 years then a trike for the last 8 years. I have been down to the Smokies 3 times on the trike.

We don't know what days quite yet that we'll ride with a group - prob Fri and Sun, but will decide soon.

John has a gazillion years of bike riding, together we have nearly 20K safe miles on the trike and more than 10K together on the Ultra.

Have ridden never-before-bike-traveled back roads in Tennessee & North Carolina, just to get to friends and family - them cousins'a mine is waaaaaaaaaaay back up in the hills! (Not kidding; ask us about the 'road from hell' in Marshall, NC!)

And loved MV last year; although we didn't ride much in a group, we went several places on our own.

There will be three trikes in our group, plan on Friday & Saturday, if one of those days includes the Dragon.
All three have years of two wheels and around 10 to 20K on trikes.
