I would think it was originally put on with double face tape, Take it off clean everything good retape it and put it back on. I have seen where people have had car moldings fall off , and they try every type of glue to hold them on, there's glue and crap all over the moldings & body, come to the shop and want it fixed correctly what do you do with but buy new moldings & repaint the panels that they screwed up, Better yet go to a body shop have them fix it wright the first time .
Is it a chrome hard plastic fixed shape trim ... or is it a chrome flexable type mylar trim?

If using the 3m double sided tape, make sure to thoroughly clean the area that you will be applying the tape to as well as the item being attached. Then use some isopropyl alcohol to clean it again. There is also a product called adhesive promoter that helps with making sure the adhesive tape works even better. It's a bit pricey which is why many will skip it but it does work really well...

Thanks all. I ended up getting a shop to do it so I wouldn't mess up the paint on the trike. I have shaky hands. The trim is firm.
