Led bulbs in Tri glide tail lights

Have any of you just used a led bulb in your tail lights instead of changing out the whole assembly. Also did you have to use load equalizers for the 1157 standard bulb led replacement? I've a 2022 Tri glide and wondering if the load equalizers are necessary.

On my 21 TG, it was plug and play.

I looked through a number of posts going back a few years concerning the tail light bulbs and couldn't find any mention of the benefits of replacing the bulbs. Is there a benefit to replacing the incandescent bulbs with LEDs? Brighter? Cooler? Sexier? My trike is a 2016 and haven't had any problems.

Brighter, draw less power. last longer

I’m a sucker for new gizmos, thingys and doo-dads. After looking over the previous comments in this thread on LED tail lights I ordered the ALLA Lighting red LEDs. They’re definitely brighter and do have a distinct signal when using the turn signals. As mentioned before, the stop signal does flash three times before going solid. Pretty nifty. Thanks for all the hints. I’ll keep the old bulbs wrapped up inside my tool bag. Never know when they might be needed!

can you tell me what model year tri glide these have been used in. I have the 2018. main question is did it affect the radio , as far as static or anything like that. when i put LED lights in my older ultra classic it killed the radio with static.

See my post in the Led tail light bulb thread. It killed my radio with static, was pretty bad. Mines a '21 trike.

Unfortunately this is a common issue with the "cheaper" LEDs. They produce a lot more noise due to weak EMI suppression. That's why I went with all Custom Dynamics in mine. If I had've went cheaper, with as many as I have added, I probably wouldn't be able to use my phone either. I just watched for sales or built up points at JP to get all of mine or used Harley gift cards I have been given. Sometimes it really is buy once, cry once.

We don’t know what you used, but some LEDs are not bright at all. Some are very bright but cause other issues like radio noise. Some will cause the indicators on the dash to hyper flash, which is not really a problem for me. Just have to do your homework.
