    Dave.............

I don't know any thing about The Legend lift.......But you might want to look at DK's lift kit.....They are a sponsor here at Trike-Talk...I would recommend them..

    Default Legend lift kit

I have the Legend Lift kit and Revo-A shocks on both my 2017 and then put them on my 2021 Tri-glide , when I traded the 17 toward the 21. I have put a total of 36,000 miles on them the last 4 years. I found that it made slow turns a lot more easy. I have been very happy with them.

I have the DK lift on my 2018 triglide, I do know that the legend lift kit has spacers for the mufflers which lowers your mufflers closer to the ground, I guess it depends on what you want, a lift is supposed to lift rear end so mufflers don't drag, with spacers in the mufflers with the legend kit it put your mufflers closer to the ground which you don't want.

Your bike, do what you want, most on here have the DK lift and happy with it, I know I am.

I saw that legend includes spacers to lower the exhaust, in case it is hitting the swingarm is what i believe i read. that is counter productive for sure. trampas, you have the same model year as me, did you happen to measure how much height you gained with the DK brackets. and could you tell any difference in ride / handling with it also. thanks in advance.

I didn't measure the height from the ground to top tip of fender, sorry, I do know from the side it did raise it some from looking at tire, I have to say it did make steering easier to steer, that could be me, not sure but it feels like it and as far as the ride yes it is better, granted I ride alone and have air shocks set at 20lbs and rear tires set at 22 lbs.

Now my 2016 triglide with a lift kit from the ground to tip of fender was 11 inches but with the DK lift on my 2018 I had to use the secondary holes in lift kit because of swing arm so I'm guessing the lift to be around 1 1/4 high so not the 1 1/2 it is supposed to be. The 2016 wasn't a DK lift, it was on the bike when I bought it and I can't remember what brand it was because I talked to the previous owner to find out about the lift, I do know they are no longer in business.

Hope that helps you decided, like I said it is your bike use the lift you want, like I said most have the DK lift on here and I'm very happy with what I have.

I know I would like to get rid of air shocks and go with the shocks from DK, it is quite a bit of money but from the reviews and people on here it might be worth it. I haven't did it yet but I don't put the miles on my trike in a year like most do on here, I still might pull the trigger someday and go with the 14 inch shocks and his lift kit for the 14 inch shocks, or I might just go with the 13 inch with my lift kit, not sure if pro action or Bitubo, the second shock is cheaper and from what DK said it is a very good shock.

Enjoy what ever you route you go

    All for now Trampas

P/S. If my trike wasn't put up for winter and on the jack I would measure from ground to tip of fender for you

Here’s something Kevin of DK posted in another thread that I found helpful.

“Yeah, it is on my "to do list" to change all the wording on the Convertible Comfort Lift™ Kits.

There is a conscious (or subconscious) assumption that "Primary" is better than "Secondary" when referring to the two different mounting points.

Not sure what wording I will use to distinguish the two different mounting positions, but the key is that they both exist to accommodate Harley's variances in manufacturing between the different years.

ALL Convertible Comfort Lifts™ will increase the height of the rear of the Trike when used with the matching shocks. How much they increase them is dependent on Harley's inconsistent manufacturing, but they ALL raise the ride height.

Raising the rear of the Trike reduces the rake, which results in requiring less handlebar input to turn the front wheel. There is an in-depth article on this subject at this link- https://www.dkcustomproducts.com/med..._and_Trail.pdf

    Addressing your questions-

On a '17 (and up) Trike there are 2 choices when going with a 14" shock-

    1. Use the stock shock mounting brackets. This will raise the rear of the trike, resulting in easier steering, and will also give a better ride quality because of the better shocks. Unfortunately, because of HD's inconsistent manufacturing tolerances, the 14" shocks may or may not fit with the stock bracket...and there is no way to know without trying it.

    2. Use the 14" Convertible Comfort Lift™. This will raise the rear of the trike, resulting in easier steering, and will also give a better ride quality because of the better shocks AND because of the Improved Angle the shocks are mounted at.

The 3/16" difference between the factory brackets and the 14" Convertible Comfort Lift™ brackets is indistinguishable in riding to 98% of riders.

To further muddy the waters...on '19+ Trikes they come with HD's super stiff coil over shocks. These shocks do not have any (or very, very little) sag. On of the reasons they ride poorly is because they have very little sag, not allowing for proper damping when hitting an irregularity in the road. BUT, because they don't have sag, they also sit higher in the rear.

Then, when a person puts better shocks on their Trike (that have the appropriate amount of sag), they see the rear of the Trike sitting a bit lower, and wonder, How can this be? I put 14" shocks on here, along with a Lift, and it is sitting lower (or about the same) than it was when I had the factory 13" shocks on here.

Well, it is a little trick Harley played on their Customers. They have the rear sitting nice and high, which makes the steering easier, which makes it easier to sell the Trikes.

It is not until after the Trike is sold that a person rides a bit and realizes the rear shocks are horrible. Then they replace them with a good pair of shocks (13" or 14"). The ride quality is greatly improved, but if they did not maintain/slightly increase the rear ride height (with a lift on the 13" shocks, and probably a lift with the 14" shocks) the steering is more difficult.

Even if they do keep the ride height the same, there is only going to be an improvement in ride quality, with a near static dynamic (because the increase in ride height is minimal) in steering input.

    Hope that helps.

    Kevin”

I have this very same setup on my 2021 Tri Glide and also am quite happy with the overall handling and ride.

    Default Road couch rider

I have the Legend lift kit and shocks. My wife and I both agree that it helped tremendously with the ride.
