EXTENSION, HEADER PIPE Removal

So I decided to prep for the installation of my 14.5" SuperShox for my 2022 Tri-Glide which are currently being built. With that said, I attempted to remove the OEM Header Pipe Extension (right side) in order to replace it with 1 that offers more of a drop. I removed the right-side tailpipe and loosen the clamps, but there was no way in hell that extension was going to get past the cross member of the frame. The lip on the header side of the extension is too large (see small circle in pic). I assume I could have removed the entire head pipe, but was trying to avoid that. Is there a trick to removing the OEM Header Pipe Extension?

I think you can loosen up the head pipe & take the bolt out of the side bracket & that should give you enough room to get the extension pipe off ? You dont need a half of a inch more .

Is the trike on jack stands? Also does it have air shocks currently, Try wrapping a rachet strap around the axle and compressing the shock as far as it will go up.

Yes bike was on jackstands and no air shocks. I will take the advice of the prior post an loosen the pipe at the manifold.

If you have to pull the head pipe off, cut about 3/4 inch off of the head pipe end and another 3/4 inch off of the large end of the "s" pipe and then add a couple inches to the other end of the "S" pipe and you will have enough clearance and will not hit the frame.
