Back in October, had some brake work done on the trike by bike shop in Naples, Florida. They fixed the back brake problem which turned out to be a bad brake cylinder on the right side. They checked the front brakes, and the rotors showed they were warped and the pads were down to about 50 percent.
They couldn't find a match to the rotors that were on the trike. They matched the wheels and no HD shop in the the area had them. We decided to leave the front brakes alone and took the bike back to Missouri at the end of October, since our contract job ended at the end of Dec and we didn't want to have to make two trips to get the bike and fifth wheel to our next destination.
I decided this week, now that we are back in Missouri and have a nice garage to work in that I would tackle the front brakes myself, watched several videos on line and ordered the needed parts from ebay. As I was taking the front wheel off I noticed two sending units with wiring run up into the wiring harness under the gas tank. I was not aware that my trike had ABS on it until I researched and found what they were.
I am not sure it works as the rear has drum brakes now, I took the right side cover off and the ABS module is still there. Has anyone had issues with the front brakes being ABS and the rear not, or maybe they disconnected them and just left the sensors as spacers.. I test rode it after the work was done, and there was no more pulsation in the front brakes as was before.
