So few trikes

Wife and I drove up the road for a long drive, gorgeous day too. Due to some issues with lymphoma, brain cancer, etc ... I gave up on the bikes and the trike, sold the trike to the original owner's son in 2020 as neither of us felt safe on it, my vision left of dead center was FUBAR .... but I'm told I'm clear of it now, I get brain MRIs every check up. I know GWRRA went belly up, our old chapter is no more, I've lost touch with most. I also could not help but take note last year or so, I rarely ever see Gold Wings or trikes any more. When we were riding, we'd see them constantly.

I do miss the rides, the people, some have passed too. Just seems sad.

I was at a dinner yesterday, for of us rode there - two were on trikes. I have a CSC kit on my Harley. When I ride with the Harley group, sometimes trikes are 1/3 of the group - yep, we are getting older.

We too are sorry that GWRRA went belly up. I joined back in 1982 - so was a very long-time member. How unfortunate - we believed that the powers to be at GWRRA had integrity when they said that they would refund any unused portion of our money since the was out of business effective July 2022. Funds were to be returned by August - then it was September - October - you get the drift.

By the end of the year, they were still saying we would get our refund - and I kept getting notes from Melissa assuring my it was being mailed. Finally, there were no more responses. Other friend I know received checks, but they bounced.

I filed a complaint with the Arizona AG's office - and, from what I was told by them, they did not respond. Arizona has some concern about bounced checks plus, since our money has not been returned, there may be some tax implications. So, we will see where this goes.

Still, I agree with you - sad and GWRRA made it just that much worst by the way they handled this matter.

For most part when I ride my trike it’s with my wife and usually alone. If I ride with another or a group I ride my 2 wheeler but sometimes the trike. I notice more and more trikes on the road.

I haven't seen nearly as much motorcycle activity two or three wheels, since the pandemic. Maybe it's there and I just don't see it.:Shrug:

I guess I was just in a "funk" yesterday, I enjoyed our drive, but it was warm and traffic was miserable in places, then I started remembering, and well ..... reflecting on so few motor cycles and trikes both it seems. I know a few have given up due to traffic and increasing road rage incidents in the news.

Les, down here in Florida with all us old farts there are a lot of trikes riding around. They are mostly Harleys but we do see some Wings every time we're out, especially on the weekends.

Here in the Texas Hill Country there is no lack of ANY kind of bikes, trikes, Spyders. Any make or model is plentiful, every day, unless the weather is bad.

The Blue Bonnets, as well as many other wildflowers, were absolutely plentiful and gorgeous this year. The bloom started very early and is still going on. We noticed yesterday the early bloomers are going to seed but the later bloomers are out in all their glory.

Any idea how many people at GWRRA have control over this money? That is criminal!
