1954 Harley servi car restoration

Finished my 1954 servi-car restoration. The servi car was given to the chief of police in Chicago as a retirement gift. My customer purchase it from his widow after he passed away 10 years ago. His mechanic disassembled the servi down to its last nut and bolt and did not categorize any of the parts or fasteners. He also died a few months later and the project sat in the shop for 10 years.

I built a custom trike for my customer about a year ago and he was very pleased with the outcome and asked me would complete the build on his servi car. Ten years later and nothing was labeled I accepted the challenge. It was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle with extra pieces because he had thrown in parts from another servi car he had disassembled in case I could use them. I think I now have the 45 servi car parts book memorized lol. Restoration is completely original, with no aftermarket parts

Dennis I rode my Dad’s servicar my freshman year of college (1960) because freshman weren’t allowed to bring an auto onto campus. Had no issues getting attractive female passengers to ride the “box”! 😎

Nope it's two stage paint with several coats of clear color sanded in-between coats.

Thats Beautiful ! Lots of hard-to-find parts on that. I like the siren with the foot pedal on the rear wheel. most are front wheel. I have had a half dozen Servi Cars over the years.
