2013 Stallion Trike Fuel pump replacement

Sheila, I have not nor have I heard of anyone doing it. But it does look like it would be a real challenge. If you can get the gas tank to drop a few inches you should be able to work the pump out of the top of the gas tank.

If this is a typical Ford Ranger type pump you will ( if it does not have an access plate) have to lower the tank to R and R the pump

You can in most cases get just the pump, tho I would get the entire module so you have no surprises when done

I have changed a lot of pumps, not a lot of fun but doable if you have the tools and patience

I wonder if it has an impact sensor like the cars and trucks. If it does it's the first place I would look they like to pop that switch. I've also seen plug melted on that switch.

Yes it does.

The switch is a RED button under the seat towards the right middle near the fuse panel.

Yes the tank has an access panel, but the tank is so far up inside the body behind the rear seat back that getting the panel off and the pump out is an issue. If you can get the tank to drop down enough, then it should be able to be removed.

Good call to try the reset first. It did go off once on us after an emergency stop.

Mine has tripped a few times going over a pothole or bouncing the bottom coming out of a driveway slowly. Doesn't take a lot to pop it. I would definitely check that before fooling with the fuel pump. I haven't heard of anyone needing to replace the fuel pump. Rick
