    Default Running board problem

    Hey all, Our right side Lehman running board is cracked up where the parking brake bracket is. I can't send a pic as I am only iPad able right now. If you feel, under the boot about 11/2-2" down from the head, there is a square piece of metal, that small piece rubbed a hole through the boot and cracked the upper part of the board where it mates to the fender. You would not notice the crack until you engaged the parking brake. I weigh 195 and wife weighs 125 and we dismount on the left side and NEVER step on the board. I will keep you posted. In a different matter, we have received and installed the Kuryakyn armrests and they work well! God Bless the USA and all of you!

    A brief update. Lehman is going to be redesigning the right side of the board where the parking brake is located. They will ship my new part to the dealer in the next two weeks. It will have a larger opening and may be recessed a little so the brake arm mounting bracket won't hit it.

    What about the rest of us who bought the running boards? are we going to wait till they crack or is Lehman going to inform the customers that there are issues with there boards?

    Here’s what is going on with Tri Glide EFX. Of all the kits we have shipped, this crack experienced by rwhgme is the first we are aware of. The park brake handle assembly is mounted to the swing arm so it travels up and down with the suspension. The product was designed so that when the suspension on the trike is completely compressed there is clearance at the top of the park brake opening. That measurement is made with a nice tight fitment line where the rear section of the EFX meets the fender. Any gap where those two meet reduces the clearance at the park brake lever.<br />
    <br />
    The other issue that could be at work here is the variability from trike to trike in body placement, park brake handle placement etc. The design was created with tight tolerances for a nice clean look. We do not believe that a high % of units will experience this issue but we are taking steps to improve the clearance in that area. <br />
    <br />
    The mold is being modified to allow for additional clearance around the park brake opening. If you see any signs that there may be contact between the top of your park brake assembly and the upper edge of the opening in the rear section of the EFX, please contact Lehman Trikes USA at 888-394-3357 and we will see that you get a new part with additional clearance.

    Those parts should be available late in the week of May 9th.

    I second that, Zook. Lehman, and, in particular, Casey Chase, have been stellar in resolving this problem. I felt that from the outset, they were going to resolve this in a spectacular and customer service oriented way, that would leave me completely satisfied. My dealer was worried that they (not me) would be stuck with the labor charge, Lehman is taking care of it all. Makes me wonder what the motivation of the dealer is all about, especially after spending a lot of bucks with them. Thank you again all of you at Lehman, I will continue to buy your products in the future.

    </div>well since I havent installed mine yet I will have to check out my clearance around the brake lever before I install I do not want to do this twice.<br />
