In April of 22 I went up to SC with a good friend to pick up my first trike, a 05 RSV Hannigan trike and trailer it back to Jacksonville. Ken, who already had a custom painted 03, fell in love with it and the search was on to find another for him. In July we found one in south Florida and headed down with the trailer and bought an 05 too.
While I was content on keeping mine stock, clean and well maintained, Ken had other ideas. Within a few weeks we began transferring parts from his 03 to the 05 trike. Custom painted fender, fairing, battery covers and tank as well as his chromed fork assembly moved over to the trike. Now he’s eying the body and found a local artist who could match the body to the rest of the parts.
Off came the body for some fiberglass repairs and painting. Antenna holes were relocated as the original antenna location interfered with the Harley tour pack. The Hannigan floorboards were permanently removed and the lower holes in the body had to be glassed in. (Floorboards and brackets are for sale).
Ken fabbed some rear fenders out of angle and carved wood and this the “Rat” was born so he was able to ride it while the body was off. That turned out to be a 9 month project but it’s finally finished and it looks awesome. A lot of work and expense but he’s happy with the results.
