As I was cleaning up my 2004 GL1800 (non-ABS) Lehman Monarch trike (not the Monarch ll) from a fall ride, I found my left exhaust pipe being loose. Pulled the wheel off for further inspection. Upon removing the flange bolt on the oem Honda muffler, I was able to pull it right off.
Lehman's exhaust pipe extension rusted off as shown in the YouTube pic's below. Thank goodness it rusted off about 3/4" within the Honda oem exhaust pipe holding it in place instead of dropping while on the E-way. There wasn't any change in the exhaust sound therefore, I was really surprised when I came across it. Now, the fun begins trying to get it replaced...... I did find a Lehman Monarch ll manual (link below) that shows the part number & photo for the one they installed on page 42 (snapshot below).
The pipe extension appears to have a longer tail piece than mine but, I'm sure it would work simply due to tying into Honda's oem on both ends. Unfortunately, Lehman didn't create a manual of this type for their original Monarch for parts. With that being said, I reached a dead end trying to find part number LP6300 from the manual. Of course, I'm not surprised. As you know, trying to find Lehman parts are next to impossible.
At this point, I'm hoping I can get the other end off in one piece in order to having a couple made at a well equipped muffler shop. The rusted off end that's within the Honda exhaust pipe is rusted in pretty solid...... spray, spray and more spray hopefully helps. As for the Honda oem exhaust, it appears to be in great shape. I definitely want to replace the other side as well.
I know I'm really pushing beyond the envelope with wishful thinking but, if anyone here knows of a source of someone having these exhaust extensions "Please" let me know. Other than that, my only recourse will be trying to have a couple made. As always, any help and/or thoughts would be sincerely appreciated. Ray
