Billiard Gray??

I do not know if anyone else has noticed but H-D now lists Billiard Gray as the standard (No Cost) paint color on bikes and trikes. Vivid Black, to my recollection, has almost always been the standard, no cost paint color for many, many years. I may have my facts wrong and if so, please find it in your respective hearts to forgive me. Should we now expect to see a proliferation of Billiard Gray bikes or perhaps H-D has simply stumbled upon another $$$ making scheme to extract a few more dollars from the unsuspecting buyer? It seems Vivid Black will now cost an additional $300 (Nightster) to $850 (Tri Glide Ultra). I truly expect given my age (73 in a few more weeks) that my 2019 FLRT will be my last.

IMHO if I were to buy a 2024 Triglide it would still be the vivid black. It is $850.00 more that the Billiard Gray. Why, I have no idea. Then again, I wish somebody could explain why the Blue Burst costs 1200.00 more than the gray. And the Red Rock/Vivid black and the Alpine Green/Vivid Black costs 2000.00 more. The pigment of the paint is 2000.00 more. Gimme a break. The bike starts off at 37,999.00. What, do they think if they say 38,000.00, we're going to say oh hell no that's too much.

HD has the best paint in the business-I hate the MOCO at this stage of my life but the paint is the best. Billiard Gray, primer gray in drag isnt one of them. In fact all the billiard colors look like shit. There I said it. They have no depth to them if that makes any sense. They are the 1000 yard stare of paint colors.In a few years you wont be able to give away any of those puke colors. Let them run thire course and see.And if HD is up charging for Vivid Black ( the fastest color) it's because the billiard gray is cheaper to produce.

Marketing and money making strategy, give the buyer a crappy color and they'll happily pay more for a better color. The only color that stands out is the blue.

I'm inclined to agree with you. But even all of us have different color trikes due to likes. Some will like the gray some the blue, I simply can't get over the price difference. Personally, I like the red and black combo. Just not for an extra 2000 smackers.

If you like a special color than you will have to pony up for it…If not someone else will pony up for it ‘If just for the perceived bragging rights..IE;.. I’ve got a 2024 Harley Davidson Tri Glide in super phosphorus alligator green day-glow.. ..Or I have the limited edition imitation khaki colored tool carrier..
