Question about burning CD's

I have tons of mp3 files. I made two CD's using these files so I could play them on the Tri-Glide. Some of the files play while the player mearly skips right past the others. I have looked at the properties of the files that will play versus the files that don't and am unable to see a drastic difference.

The manual says the files should be MPEG 2.5 Level III, but I can find nothing on the internet that will rip files in this format.

Has anyone had success making CD's that will play. If so, what were the file parameters. I would sure hate to have to burn all of my mp3 files to CD's and then inventory the ones that will play versus the ones that won't. Have never had any trouble playing them on any other device.

No guarantees this is your solution, but my husband, Mike, had to go through the following steps in order to play his music on the bike:

• download any music from CDs into I-tunes
  
  • under I-tunes preferences: "general"
  • "when you insert a CD"
  • "import CD"
  • "settings"
  • "using MP3 encoder"
• create a playlist
• burn the playlist to CD

May have solved my own problem. Took some of the files that would not play on the Trike sound system, converted them back to wav files and then converted them again to mp3 at 128 kbps and 44,100 hz. With those parameters the files played as expected.

You got it. iTunes will show MPEG as type of file, but that is usually MPEG 4! The HK radio in the Harley won't play MPEG 4. I tried to explain to a friend that if he converted his wave or whatever to MPG3 format, he could get a couple of hundred songs on a standard disk.

It works, right clicked in iTunes and burned to MP3 files and worked like a champ. Tried it in my car and it worked too. I hate listening to radio with 10 commercials to each song. Haven't had mine a month yet, so still need to try the CB and WB radios.

I'm back to put an end to this thread.

After much trial and error, I found that I had used a tagging program to embed the album covers in many of my mp3 files. When they are then put into a device such as an I-Pad, the album covers can be displayed. This does not seem to matter to the CD player in my truck. Apparently the CD player on the HD does not like embedded album covers. It does not matter what bit rate the files are in at all.
