Hi Everybody.....US Army 1974 to 2003, retired as a CW4.
Retired USN E7. Spent most my time with RA-5C Recon aircraft during Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic - been sailing around Tonkin Gulf a few times on carriers (USS Forrestal and USS Kitty Hawk).
USN-75-84 served aboard the USS Stanley CG-32, USS Enterprise CVN-65, USS McKee AS-41 and North Island Naval Air Station, E-6 Machinist Mate.
Yea!!! and the crew got a nice medal once for missions out of country. The pilots saw to it that the enlisted crew were taken care of. The G. Cross.....not to be mistaken for good conduct. .10cents and the medal would get a candy bar or coke. Later on in the 70s, and 80s the members on promotion boards were told not to promote on past experience but what were they doing now. All the young guys were getting their degrees. I was working 2 jobs but I still managed to get 2 degrees. Now its all good memories.
Thanks you"ll.
