Thinking of triking the Beast.

I had a total knee replacement in Jan and it isn't doing well. I'm having problems holding the bike up. I see 2 options sell it or trike it, I have way too much money in this machine to give it away. I'm not sure if I can post a pic yet and if not I'll put one on ASAP. The bike is a custom VTX1800 Retro.



If it shows up what do you think it'll look like triked?

Wanderingbear, first off, welcome to the best darn trike forum on the net, secondly, my personal opinion is your bike will look totally awesome triked.

Hello Wanderingbear, Welcome to the Forum. You have a beautiful bike and it will look as fantastic as any that I have seen. Go for it and enjoy the three wheels as much as thousands of Trikers do (including me). If you have not chosen the trike package yet, take a look at several threads in this Forum for input and also your local installers. Good Luck..

Many of us have moved to three wheels just because we want to, but many also (like you) made their decision because of leg or other health issues. Wanderingbear are you on the vtxcafe? If so, you have found a great trike site! I spend as much time here as over there. And yes your 1800 will look fabulous triked!! :woohoo: :Flag:

You'll never look back once you go the 3 wheel route.....although your friends may make utterances about you having gone to the "dark side (LOL)I started my trike build with a stock softtail frame,DNA rear and swing arm....it has stock softtail style shocks which leave a little bit to be desired....but I'm getting used to it.....I put a steering stabilizer up front,A flasher on the headlight and a Badlands brake light flasher on 'er.
She's a 106" 66 genny cased bottom end with worked EVO heads,10.5-1 compression,etc,etc..............and I run 12.5" goodyear eagle GT tires on 'er.

Your VTX will trike very nicely! I just triked my 2003 1800C and it is AWSOME! I went with the Roadsmith conversion. Try various conversions then enjoy the three world. Make sure you rake the conversion.
