know anything about trikes from China?

New here. Greetings all. Reviewing possible trike options online and found this.

Trike Chopper 250cc trike chopper eec trike chopper epa trike three wheel motorc - ws-250cc - WINSUN (China Manufacturer) - Products

Has anyone had any experience with this model? And does anywhere outside of California or China sell it?

Any insight would be most appreciated.

In general, beware of CCS (cheap chinese scooters). All of these are between 3/4 and 7/8 lifesize, have a life expectancy of a few hundred trouble free yards, etc.

Less than 15 seconds to start? Count off just how long that is. 68mph? Probably with a tail wind, maybe. Parts and service? good luck. Might be a good rolling chassis to put your own motor and tranny in though. Keep in mind it is 3 ft shorter than a Tri-Glide.

A 250cc trike? Hmmm. Traditionally, 250cc engines are considered "starter" vehicles. I have a hard time imagining that a 250cc engine would be an adequate trike platform. This is not a full size vehicle but it may have a purpose.<img src="images/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Wink" class="inlineimg" /> Would it be fun to ride around the neighborhood? I would suggest that buying a Chinese trike would be akin to buying a Russian sidecar unit. NOT such a good idea.

I'm not one to bad mouth the "competition" but in this case those 250cc Lifan Yamaha clones (and the more recent scooter options as well) are not really competition. I checked them out very closely 4 years ago when they first started showing up.

China purchased the right to build copies (and the operative word here is copy) of the venerable, reliable Yamaha Virago engine. There are no real standards in the Chinese industry regarding their manufacture and pretty much any outfit that has been building woks and hula hoops for the last 30 years can crank out motorcycles and trikes. Spend a few hours surfing around on the cited website and/or Alibaba.com and you'll see that as a pattern.

As Jon noted above, this is one of those fractional sized units (and you'll never see a person standing anywhere near these trike in the photos so you can readily tell that). The rear wheels are only 10" rims!

It is what it is and if that's all you want, then this is it! Best to keep shopping! :Biker:

what confuses me about these is that they very closely resemble the "Bunker Trike" brand, being billed as "built in Spain"...

plenty of You Tube videos on the Bunker Trike, and I almost bought one to do as Bikerbozo suggested (put a 450cc Honda motor in it)

The Bunker is a Spanish company that imports their bikes from China, and yes it looks similar, but is full sized and is a higher quality build. I didn't mean to imply that ALL is "Chinese Junk" -- just the vast majority. There are a few decent factories building stuff. Johnny Pag's for one, Qlink & CFMoto have a fairly good product as well. Peace is another. But rest assured they are few and far between and even their best is not up to the bikes coming from the big four in Japan and Hyosung in Korea.
