100% gasoline

Some stations around town and our local Harley dealer are now selling 100% gas without ethanol. I think my trike runs better when I use the 100% but could just be my imagination!!!!! Anybody else running this stuff.

I wish. there are ZERO gas stations on LI that sell the pure stuff. I wouldn't be suprised to learn of some weasely NY state law banning it.

just got back from a trip to the western slope of Colorado and found one station that had the real stuff. this was the first tank without ethenol and there was no measurable differences in engine performance but I can guarantee you I got better gas mileage with that tank and that was crossing the continental divide.

Here in Boise Idaho area, there are several stations that pump real gasoline. I can tell a difference in how my TG runs and in my Ford Edge also!..TG has less engine pinging and faster throttle response...Edge runs smoother and gets 2 miles more to the gallon..The guy that owns the stations here has a huge classic car collection, as do all his buddies and he wanted them all to have real gas...so we riders get to benefit from his desire also.

You will notice better gas mileage for sure..They recommend that you do not use ethanol gas with 2 stroke motors as it makes the oil separate and really tear up the carb ..

Hey Itch bought a crotch cooler earlier this summer from you. The best add on I have bought for my trike. Exactly like the name says. I liked it so much I bought one the other week for my brother. He hasn't road his bike to see how good it works but said it looks so nice he was going to keep it on the bike year round.

We Thank You very much for your business...

Having worked in a refinery and made gasoline I can assure you any internal combustion engine will perform better on 100% gasoline than one run one blended with ethanol. That's because ethanol has less BTU content. Less BTUs translates to less power. That is true of any fuel.

One station in our area that has it, but the premium is 91 octane instead of 93 for his eth-blend. Also about 0.50/gal more expensive. Haven't checked the mileage, but my TG seems to run cooler with better throttle response with it. Will have to do some comparison runs to be sure.

I have always noticed that I have more power and better MPG when I run ethanol free 91 octane over my normal 10% ethanol 93 octane.

Here's a link that may be helpful in locating ethanol free gas-

Several stations here in Jamestown have the pure premium with no ethanol. One of the stations even has it on their sign that they have only pure premium gas. I recently returned from a trip out thru Billings and Bozeman, MT and Arco, ID to Boise, ID and back via Ogden, Utah, Rock Springs, WY, Casper, WY and Sturgis and found pure premium almost everywhere I stopped for gas. One place and I can't remember where for sure but they had regular, mid grade and premium with ethanol and then a fourth button with a seperate hose saying pure premium. Newell, SD was one that had only ethanol blended, either reg. or mid-grade. One station(s) that I try to avoid are Cenex as they will almost always only have gas with ethanol. Most stations around here are 91 octane. I do find I get better mileage with pure premium verses any with ethanol and that stands to reason as ethanol does not have the BTU's of pure gas as Phu Cat metioned.

In Southern California that is all you can buy. California Air Resources Board says Ethanol is a NoNo, causes inversions, pollutions, and just generally mucks up the air. It is 'available' in parts of Northern California.

Of course we are paying $4.00 a gallon for premium out here.

Actually Screwball your $4.00 a gallon is just about normal. Here in Jamestown reg. unleaded is $3.39 and pure premium is $3.79. Used to be only 15 cents difference in reg. and premium but not anymore. During our trip to Idaho and back we saw pure premium between $3.69 and $4.29 a gallon. One place we stopped at so the wife could use the ladies room was in Muddy Gap, WY out in the middle of nowhere and they were $4.71 a gallon.

Bummer! Checked that pure-gas.org... There are NO stations in the northern VA area selling 100%...:( There are a handful of stations further out west along the I66 cooridor towards Shenendoa Valley, but they might as well be on the moon - about a 40 mile hike from here. Oh well, one can wish...

We have both here.....Our Miata is the only vehicle we own that You can tell an appreciable difference in using non-ethanol gas over the 10%-15% ethanol blends. I suppose an Engine Dyno might find it, but my throttle hand/foot and mileage can't find a difference. Last "One-Dayer" I took to the Smokies Area, my Honda Aero 750 left on pure gas, and returned on the ethanol blend....it actually got about 1.5 mpg better average on the ethanol....yes, same route to and from, and same speeds.....ThumbUp
