I did a write up and pictures on another forum at the time while the work was in progress. I figure some folks over here at TT may find this information useful so I'm recreating the writeup over here also.

Picture of the primary chain before I removed the tensioner.

Zip tied the tensioner in place per the manual, I'm of the school the more zip ties the better. The tensioner wear pad is in pretty good shape. Only thing I don't like is the chain was tighter than it should have been, only had 1/2" of deflection.

This is a picture of the compensator sprocket and ramps. I was interested to see how the sprocket would look. There had been guys seeing some gulling where the ramps run on the sprocket, mine is showing some of this gulling.

Shot of the primary with everything removed.

I like to bag oily parts so they don't get contaminated with dirt which would require disassembly and cleaning. This is the clutch basket which I will break down and inspect the frictions and steels at a later time. I'll also be installing a Screamin Eagle spring to give a little more clamping pressure.

A shot of the poor trike with a lot of parts missing.

Some of the pieces and parts, you couldn't tell by the look of the gas tank I love blue painters tape.

I started by loosening the belt, taking it off the sprocket and removing the lock plate. This is a shot of the plate being taken off and the transmission sprocket locking tool installed.
What would it cost to have Harley change my 09 triglide to a 30 tooth??

after meeting with Mike last summer in Pa. he suggested to me to change out the tranny sprocket in my 2007 Harley. all i can tell any of you is it totally changes your ride to a different beast you did not think you had. well i did also go with the TTS tuner at the same time ( Mikes suggestion also ) so with this combo i can really use all the gears now. it does change your speedo reading about 5 miles an hour off but with the tuner you can correct that easily. the tach will read about 350 rpm's more than before at the same speed so as you can see it will help you get in the next gear much faster without lugging the engine. your gas mileage will remain about the same as you will now be in a higher gear than before the change. I cannot tell you how much it will change your top speed as i have never driven the trike over 90 mph. sorry but i think sh-t could happen really fast at that speed and above and i have a great family that i want to return to at the end of a day of riding.

I had mine changed out on my 2010 TG in June 2011 and it ran around $400 in labor and $165 in parts.

Sort of lost my clutch over the weekend, well I think that's what is going on.
Anyway I have been readin this entire post and have a few questions...
1 I am looking at Barnetts Clutch
Scorpion Clutch for 2007-2010 Big Twin. Good or Bad

2 Replacing the cams and everything in there with Zipper Red Shift 525 cams.
    Good or Bad

3 Should I change the transmission sprocket as is being described to a 30 tooth and change the belt due to having a Motortrike conversion or should I change the compensator sprocket?

4 Is there anything I am forgetting?

    thanks don

ps forgot to say I have a 2009 ultra that was converted last fall. I love the look and feel of riding the trike but I really lack the off the line torque, coming back from Americade this year I was dropping down to 4th while buddies were crusing in 5th sometimes 6th but they were on two wheels. Plus they had 103 and 110 motors, I know it's sort of like comparing apples to oranges. But I do know it has lost of lot of pulling torque since doing the conversion.

    Again thanks for your input.

For the clutch I would install the clutch as Wiz used in this thread http://www.triketalk.com/forum/threa...Chain-Adjuster.

The Redshift 525 cam looks like it would work, you could also look at the Andrews 48 or the SE255, these cams work well in a 96" engine.

The transmission sprocket would be my 1st choice, the 2nd choice would be the Evolution Industries 49 tooth clutch basket sprocket http://cycleplicity.com/products/150...9t-wchain.aspx, if choose this over the compensator sprocket because the compensator sprocket does away with the compensator which can lead to crank shaft damage.

If you do cams you will need a tuner if you don't already have one, obviously if you change the transmission sprocket to the 30 tooth it will change your actual indicated speed. If you use the 49 tooth clutch basket sprocket you will need a tuner such as the TTS to change the primary gear ratio so you have a 6th gear light and make your cruise control function again. Altering the primary ration messes with both the 6th gear light and the cruise control.

Maybe you guys can help me with my particular gearing questions. Our 2011 Street Glide pulleys are a 32/68 combo. Hannigan installs a 66T rear pulley from a 2007 FL that is obviously a non-cushdrive unit. Our SG's rear tire size is a 180/65/16 which is 25.8" tall and Hannigan's recommended rear tire for the Transformer is 205/45/17 which is 24.3". Even though the shorter 17" rears will shorten the overall gearing somewhat,I would still like to use either a 68T rear pulley (non-cush) or a 30T front. Obviously, the 68T rear would be an easier/much cheaper install but the 30T front would make a bigger change.
Any thoughts on what pulleys to use?

When you say the 68 tooth would be an easier and cheaper install, are you having your installer install the 68 tooth when the kit is installed? IMO I'd go with the option you will be the happiest with, doing it right the 1st time is a whole lot cheaper than having regrets down the road. I know the 07 - 08 touring had a crappy primary gear ratio, Harley changed it starting in 09.

Yes,I think that Hannigan would install a 68T pulley that I would supply. Don't really want the 66T pulley the Transformer kit comes with as I think the overall gearing would still be a little tall, even with shorter rear tires. Would a 30T front pulley require a shorter drive belt? If not, that is the way to go.
IMO,a 30/68 or 30/70 combo would just about be ideal.

Anyone know if the TriGlide 70T rear pulley has a cush drive or not?

I don't know about belt length, you could call Hannigan or ask the question in the Hannigan section here on TT, I'm sure they could answer that one. The Triglide does have the cush drive.

I talked to Hannigan today and my conversion utilizes the stock-length belt. They will be installing a non-cush 68T pulley that I will be supplying.

I ordered a 30T front pulley from Boardtrackers H-D on Nov.1st and received it,yesterday. Looking forward to getting it installed.
Will have to wait until I can afford a Power Vision tuner before I can calibrate the speedo correctly.

I did move them, I just can't edit my post here like I can at that other site. I believe TT allows you to edit a post in the 1st 24 hours, and then it can't be done except by a moderator.

If I could I'd upload them to TT which would keep them here forever.

I've read all of this thread and didn't see where anyone talks about the 70T on the rear of the TriGlide. I've got the Hannigan Transformer with the 32/68 gearing. 17" wheels with 24.3" tall tires. The 30T sounds great but shouldn't you also think about changing the rear to a 70T. Also that will make you change the belt for what I've been told.????

Hannigan told me there's not enough room on the belt adjustment to install a 70T rear pulley,by itself. It makes sense because my belt adjustment is all the way to the front, now. However,a 30T/70T combo could be installed on our Transformers,if you didn't mine spending a large chunk of money to do it. Here's a good reason it would be a bad idea in our particular case: Yes,TriGlides have that gearing combo but their 205/65/15 rear tires are almost 26" diameter while your 205/45/17's are 24.3" tall and my 205/50/17's are 25.1" tall. That means either one of our Transformers would have really short gearing and be spinning alot of engine rpm's going down the road. With a 30T/68T combo and our shorter rear tires, our trike's final drive gearing would be pretty close to a stock TriGlide's.

GMR is too slammed with work to get to our trike, this week. I told them I'll call them after the holidays and set up an appointment.

I would also like to know what the increase in RPM's are at say 60 mph.

My guess is approximately 400-550 rpm, across the board. If you're thinking about one on your 2012 TriGlide, it's already equipped with a 30T front pulley.
