Here is the update code my dealer loaded on my Trike last week. Decreased the heat, ran quieter, smoother, better milage.

# 33217-11B
Hope it works for any of you having these same issues!

Excellent, Trent. Thanks for sharing. My trike is supposed to be delivered in about 10 days. I'm going to ask them to flash the ECM before delivery. I hope they don't give me any heartburn over it.

My service guy didnt hesitate to give me the code, so evidently not to big of a secret. Hope all of you have an easy time gettin' it done!!! Let us know!!

Just got the ECM Update you listed done on my 011 Triglide. It is running smoother & seems to have a little more power. I'm headed out for a 1,000 m+ plus ride this weekend. I'll know more about the heat & gas miliage when I get back. Thanks for the info.

wounder if they can flash my 2010 with the 2011 code...wondering if it will correct the speedo. I changed my 32T sprocket to the 30T like the 2011....have to call and check it out.

would this effect your ECM if you had a stage I done.
I had the stage I done but if this would help with the heat as it still is hot
on the right side and if it helps quite the noise down a little, it would be worth it.
Any thoughts on this

Softail, if you had the stage 1 done, I do not believe it will help. As long as you dont change out the air cleaner you should be fine, pipes without air cleaner you will not need to remap, but if you had stage 1 forget it, the factory upgrade will just create more heat and the ECM would just learn all over again and keep the engine in a lean conddition.

Just my thoughts.

I contacted the local HD dealer this afternoon, first thing she admitted she didn't know anything about the code, said she would call me back, she did call back an hour later and said she talked to the tech and he did not know if that code was available?? the only way he could tell is if he hooked the computer up to my trike and it would show up if it was available -- he said I would have to pay for the time for the tech to hook it up -- I asked if it was covered under warrenty -- he said flat out no I would have to pay for it if it was available -- I asked if they could check on the code, he said no the only way to see if it was available was to hook the trike up. I asked again if they had even heard of the code -- his answer was no -- so has anybody heard anything different?? or is this dealer / service mgr. just blowing smoke??

Bruce, I think they are blowing smoke!! The dealer does have to hook it up to the computer to see if there is an upgrade. I took mine in last week for its 5k checkup and explained it was running very hot and that there was an upgrade, the service manager knew nothing about it. I went and picked it up and there on the bill was the upgrade with no charge.

I would think that there might be a charge for the tech to look at it, but if it is under warranty then I would call bull$hit!! IMO, it really sounds to me like the dealer should really not be a dealer!

I had the up-grade done yesterday by the dealer. They were also not aware of it unitl I gave them the ID provided here on the thread.
No charge by dealer. They did verify that the new up-grade was not in my bike by connecting a computer to it, and proceeded to perform the up-grade.

Your right about not being a dealer -- the original owner of the company was great, would do anything he could for you weather you bought the bike there or not -- this new guy that bought the company only cares about the almighty dollar -- you can tell the employees are not happy anymore and I think he has only one time customers -- my problem is I only have two dealers in the area and they are both 2 hrs. away ( one east and one west ) I would think that they should know if the upgrade is available for a 2010 tri-glide. guess I'll have to call some dealers a little farther away --

All they would need to do is look on their Digital Technician for that down load #. They would be looking at the information HD has to offer and it don't need to be attached to your TG. The only reasons it would need to be attached to your TG is to see if the download is already there or to install it. If the download is an upgrade or fix there should not be any charge. HD at this time has no fix available for changing the speedo after the 30 tooth pulley change.

From what I understood, my tech said he couldnt tell if an update was available till he hooked up to the computer. Prior to that, they looked in the computer on his desk and he couldnt find anything. But, when I asked him for the code to pass on to all of you, he looked it up on his computer in 20 seconds. Dunno if it will work on a '10. I will ask next time I am in there. They are used to odd questions from me now!. Just got back from a 125 mile ride with chick on back. 92 degrees, mostly freeway, no heat issues at all, quieter engine, very sweet ride.

I have a 2010 triglide and after seeing the info on the 2011 update I rode in to my fine dealer Topeka HD and made an inquiry as to whether there were updates for the 2010. My bike is still under warranty. They asked me to bring it inside and they hooked the computer up to trike and and down loaded four updates. 5 minutes later I'm having an ice tea at the Eagles Nest which is a nice cafe that is part of the dealership. This was done at no cost to me. On the ride back home there was heavy traffic so I can't speak to how this changed anything yet. My bike is stock. Hope this gives me a little more power. The heat I can handle. Trent thanks for posting this very useful info.

njtrike, let us know what changes you notice, I'm just back from a 100 miles ride, getting 35 mpg that is up from the 30 mpg in the city I was getting. Did not feel any heat, so all is great at the moment.

Took mine down to the local dealer and asked about the update. I gave him the number for the update and he said mine had it. I picked mine up the 3rd week of June. So, I guess my trike having the latest update is one reason why I have not had quite the heat problem some others have had. Despite conventional wisdom, while he had the computer hooked up I had him download the Stage 1 download. Trike runs fine, has noticeably more low end grunt and accelerates faster. I'm going to the 4 Corners Rally in Durango, Colorado, over the Labor Day weekend. I'll see how the trike does at higher elevations and it if needs anything else. Right now with the AC, Fatshotzs and the Stage 1 it is running fine.
