    Default HD finally got it right!

    I've got almost 500 miles on the new Triglide. I like what I'm seeing and feeling with the new 30 tooth sprocket. Has more takeoff power and the RPM's are finally perfect for the 6 speed now. On the back roads running 55 and 60 I'm right in the sweet spot at 2800 to 3000 RPM's in 5th gear. I'm very happy with our new Toy...:wtg:

    Usually takes them 3-4 years. The early 09 and 10 owners finally convinced them that 6th. was useless like it was geared.

    Yes we did so you would think they would make it right by us.

    I digress and take everybody back to 1999 with the introduction of the much touted Twin Cam. The Twin Cams started blowing-up almost as soon as new owners drove them out of the parking lot. Supposedly, these engines had been tested...and tested....and tested for durability and reliability, yet the cam bearings failed by the thousands. Now....somebody lied about all the testing or made a component change prior to production to save a dollar. They stuck a ball-bearing in where a roller-bearing should have been, which ran around 10,000 miles (or less in many cases) before they crapped-out. The very first trip I took with a guy on his new Twin Cam...blew up. You could sit on the bench in front of the dealership and on just about any day see somebody hauling one in on a trailer. Harley never did do a recall, but they did give us an extended 5-year warranty, but that did not included your being stranded in the middle of the desert. You had to get it to the dealership and they would fix it. If there was ever a time in history when Harley could (and should) have been forced into a recall, it was then.

    They carried the old spring-loaded cam chain tensioners that routinely failed on out to 2006.

    They never were forced into a recall and I doubt they will ever recall the 09 and 10 TG's for a pulley change.

    if every TG had the 120R motor... LOL

    Zook....I thought I would never be the one to say this, but nobody could melt-and-pour a new Harley on me. I stick with the older models that are not controlled by rocket-science, or require the removal of some of it's guts (illegally in some states) to make it run.

    Of course I keep a Harley and likely always will. Just nothing off the current showroom floor.

    I guess everybody is different. Me, I love my new Triglide. I think they get better every year. I loved the first Harley Sportster I owned back in the late 90's. I rode an 02 Dyna for almost 7 years. Never had a minute's problem. It was carbed and had Stage 1 with V&H Big Shots. Never put a cam in or a oil cooler. Only had minor problems with all the rest. I have a friend who has an 06 Road King with over 106K on it. It's completely stock and the only thing he's had replaced was the primary chain tentioner at 50K.

    Just change the oil and keep riding.

    That's what I plan to do as long as I can. If I need to feel something more powerful, I'll get in my 400 HP F250 Super Duty...lol
