Risers or no risers & what brand if I do?

I am going to trike my 2009 GW1800.
I am going to use a Roadsmith kit with irs.
I am going to add the 5.5 or 6.0 degree rake kit.
I like to know if I should add risers or not to add risers.
If I do add risers is there a better brand to use.
I would appreciate any of your opinions that might help me.

i have the '08 GW 1800 with Roadsmith IRS with 1.5" riser and enjoy very much.
don't know which one the installer used. One thing to keep in mind is that when you do the 5.5 or 6 degree rake that will bring the handle bars closer to you about 1" or so. This is what my installer explained to me. My arms are short and with the rise and closer to me steering the trike is very comfortable.
You will love the ride and handle of the Roadsmith.

The Kuryakyn risers have adjustment for 5 different positions. On sale at Wing Stuff. Kury Risers

If you have them installed the same time you install the rake kit you'll be money ahead.

One possible advantage over the Kurys is that these move the bars more straight back, while the Kury pulls the ends in slightly, causing the grips to be angled in a bit, and the bars to be a bit narrower. Read the reviews on Wingstuff, a few people find that a problem.

I had MLB risers on my '06 MotorTrike Adventure with 4.5 degree rake and really liked them so that is what I put on the new 2015 Roadsmith HTS with 6 degree rake. The MLB risers get the hand grips back up where they belong. Way back when I noticed I was pushing down as much as out while steering. After the risers most of the steering effort was directed outward so everything became MUCH easier. I don't know if any other brand will work as well or better then the MLBs. Just my experience and Humble Opinion..

OH, the MLB comes in two versions. One for us folks with stubs for arms and then another for normal riders. If you like the wide grip position then the wide ones will do that for you.

I chose the narrow ones and really do like them.

I had MBL risers on my '09 and when I traded for my '13 trike I had the risers moved over. I see very little if any difference in the handlebars on the trike. Mine is a Hannigan with the standard Hannigan rake kit on it 4.5 degree. Basically what I'm saying is that I think if you have risers put them on the trike if you are comfortable on the bike without risers you probably won't need them. JMHO

My exact feeling were expressed by Jerry.
MLB "normal" risers for me.
Brought the bars back and up just enough to take the strain off of my shoulders.
Ive torn both rotator cuffs and riding was getting rather painful at one point.
I almost put the trike up for sale after a few weeks of getting it.
I was that uncomfortable.
MLBs and it being raked saved my bacon.

Yea, I agree. I still miss my 2 wheels but I need 3. MLB risers on order, raked last month, new front "Avon Trike Tire" in garage. BTW did you get the answer as to tread depth 6/32 center.
