Champion residual in line valve

anyone kn why champion uses the residual valve on the front brake master cycl? is it because of both calipers?

Champion uses an inline residual valve on the REAR brakes on all their trike kits now, but none on the front. It installs just in front of the T-block that feeds both rear brakes. It's there to provide an extra 3 lbs of stored boost to the brakes since there are two large calipers to actuate.
 
there is an addition added to the front master cycl,,, according to the install instructions they call it a residual valve but its something new to the system
