I had really good fun with this toy. My brother was my moving target most of the time. I suppose (now) that having a toy like this over here is not very politacally correct. Kids are now wrapped up in cotton wool and not allowed to play properly (oops getting to political again).
Wolf,
What a cool toy! I never had anything like that when I was a kid. I had old broken cap guns and an old wooden pistol. Your cool in my book Wolf, it is not your fault you can only play with trikes now! I am going rabbit hunting on New Years day, I will pop one for you bud. And in case anyone was wondering, yes we are going to be having rabbit stew for dinner if the dogs get lucky. I will try to shoot some pictures.

That'll go down with a BANG!!
Great addition to a great forum.I have been a gun nut for a lot of years.I just traded a 9mm glock for a mini 14 and I am now trying to trade a beautiful Browning 425 sporter for another handgun, never satisfied.Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody.
Not a gun buff, shot a few in las vegas on holiday. good laugh.
My only input to this is that if i was to get a gun, (against the law in UK, you can own one lots of laws go with it.... so meany its not worth the hassle.)
If i was to get one it would be the the AA-12. what a bit of kit.....
check it out on youtube, Its the mutts-nuts.......
YouTube - AA-12. World's deadliest shotgun!
Humpy
That shotgun thingy is like the old tommy gun used by the mob years ago...
We gave our daughter Claudia a 410 single shot shotgun for Christmas. Its one Ive had for 20 years and its a good starter gun...safe and doesnt kick a whole lot. Shes been shooting a pellet gun for a while now so I figured its time to move her up. Im not sure if she will actually kill a squirrel or bird with it but we`ll find out today. We are going hunting after lunch.

Love guns! Only have pistols and a .22 autoloader for sniping squirrels. Fond of .357 mag and 9x18 Markorov rounds. I have a ranger for a neighbor, and he has a "killer" collection! (no pun intended). He even has a 45 chicago typwriter(tommy gun). He has helped make me a formidable marksman as we shoot at the range together.I am amazed at how fast he can strip a weapon and put it back together! Training, training, training! I think a firearm thread is a cool idea. We both have concealed carry permits.jimsjinx
I only have one Gun, but don't even know what it is I will try to post a picture soon in my album. all I know is Officer pistol from German soldier WW2 .
John without looking at it (i am guessing) did they not all have lugers in Germany?
Smaller than a Lugar, small round like a 22 I think like 6mm I have not looked at it in years NEVER been fired Have no bullets for it.
More than likely it is a .32 cal. They were popular during WW2. It could have been a Walther, as they were often taken from the English Officers. Post a picture. Lugers were 9mm Par.

John,
You have a CZ-27. It was made in Poland. I thought it was Russian after seeing the picture. I figured it was 32 cal. due to that being the popular small cartridge smaller than the 9mm. You can read about it on the attached web page:
CZ’s Model 27 7.65mm Pistols
It was too simple of a gun to be German, the rake on the handle was too steep, almost non-existent vertical handle. If you look at the other German pistols, the handles slant, and the other popular Walther PP & PPK versions were also slanted or raked. The Russian or in this case the Polish manufacturing plants of this time (occupied by Germany during the WW2) were not as sophisticated as German and English pistol makers and therefore simpler in appearance.
If you plan to shoot it, you will need 32 cal. shells. They make several sizes, you should go to a good gun shop / smith to verify you have the correct size. You should also have someone who know pistols inspect this pistol before you shoot it. Nice piece of history you have.

Not to interrupt the thread, but heres a pretty neat link to Discover Channel's "How it Works" on machine guns. There is an interactive cutaway "gun" for blow-back, gas-operated and belt fed machine guns (scroll to the bottom of each page for the link to the next type gun). Click and hold the trigger on each one to see how the bullets feed and eject on each. Pretty interesting.
HowStuffWorks "The Blowback System"
BTW- couldn't get the link to work on the CZ-27.
