I'm a new member here and I would like to thank everyone for the tremendous amount of information posted. My knowledge grows with every visit. I'm a guy who researches everything to death before I commit and you guys are giving me what I need.
I'm a 1999 Road Star rider from Mount Airy, MD who works at the new Army hospital in Ft. Belvoir, VA. I've been riding for years, but my wife has started riding with me for the past two seasons. She gets severe motion sickness in the twisties and I'm thinking that installing a trike kit will increase her riding enjoyment. At 58, it should also keep me riding decades longer.
It appears I don't have a great deal of selection, as only Champion lists the Road Star, at least amongst the true conversions. I intend to do the conversion myself, as I have no fear of disassembling and reassembling my ride. I'm assuming I will have to fabricate a bracket for my non-stock exhaust and my reading of this forum has convinced me that I need to change my rake. If there is anything else I am naively missing or there are options I haven't discovered, please feel free to point it out. You won't hurt my feelings.
Thanks again for being here and providing me insight and wisdom.
Regards,
Dave Stott
